Review summary

Would not recommend this cruise to anyone under 70. This cruise was a great disappointment. Majority of the guests were older people and it catered to the older people - from the music to the activities.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Delayed embarkment, there was some hold up on the ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Dining Room was fantastic with wonderful waiters. buffet was good but did not alert guests if there were peanuts in different foods(my daughter is highly allergic to peanuts) not many of the crew knew either, my daughter had to eat bland salads just to be safe.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
Everything seemed to cater to the older people (eg. Carpet bowls, knitting club).

Entertainment

2 out of 5
Went to some shows they were average.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The service from waiters and room stewards were excellent, I could not find kinder, helpful and friendlier staff in my own home town.

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
Areas were clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

1 out of 5
The cabin was tiny and the bathroom was really small with not exhaust fan, it felt suffocating every time I showered.

We were on the same cruise, both 70+, but while there were many oldies we also saw many younger ones. There was entertainment for all ages, but probably slanted towards older age groups. A successful cruise is what you make it, regardless of age.

A 15-day cruise is NOT going to be filled with 20 or 30 year old somethings. Also, doubt the age average was 70+. I am a Princess person (62) and there are many older, many similar, and many younger all enjoying the Princess cruises. We have an enjoyable time each cruise.

Which cruise did you do?

Should have done your research. Plenty of sites out there that talk about the target market for each cruise line.
