If you were looking for a vacation, that includes excitement and relaxation, I would advise looking elsewhere. Virgin Cruise is very high energy. Many people seem to enjoy this, just set your expectations.
Embarkation

Lacking order or direction but seemed to progress along
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Most drinks sub-par, received a few warm drinks ie. melted frozen drinks or room temp hard seltzer with little regard from staff.
Food generally good, nothing amazing that blew me away even when ordering "treat yourself" items.
Onboard Activities

Pool way too small for this size ship. Pool water got disgusting throughout the day. Lots of other areas with things like large chess sets and see saws just a distraction.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Virgin really stood out here. Shows were great and enjoyable! The best part of the cruise by far.
Night club was also great for a ship, reminded me of a Vegas style club.
Service and Staff

Generally good service so I can't complain. The crew seems happy but it's not next level service by any means. Only once daily room cleanings. Not much effort to get to know guests. Etc.
Ship Quality

Really did not care for the ship design. It felt very segmented with a confusing, layout. Not a great flow.
I also felt that the ship wasn't very relaxing. It felt like being in an airport terminal or a large shopping mall. None of the color scheme was calming. I definitely did not feel like I was on vacation.
Cabin / Stateroom

Did not feel XL to me But I understand this is larger than the standard cabins. Still felt small. There is no door to the bathroom area although the toilet does have its own little room with a restroom style door. The hammock on the balcony was awesome.
Ship tip
Set your expectations for a nonstop party with little space to escape it
