Review summary

Good relaxing short five night cruise. Stopovers are not great - KL and Phuket both involve long drives if you choose to go into the main areas or towns, neither of which I would recommend. Penang was fun though. Ship was great - clean, organised and staff all friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed the dining options and number of bars and overall amenities. Would spend more time onboard next time and not do excursions.

Brilliant - got there early and went straight through to our cabin. Bags arrived shortly afterwards

Vivaldi and Savoy were both excellent small rooms. Only two of us and well looked after. Enjoyed the meals.

Only saw one show which was pretty good.

Service and Staff

All round excellent - friendly, attentive and helpful.

Ship Quality

Loved the layout. Like the multiple dining room options and the way the Horizon Court is split up into sections as well as the access to the back pools area.

Cabin / Stateroom

Cabin size was fine and had everything we needed. Shower was small but good, Water could have been hotter. Beds are super comfortable.

Ship tip

Look for the back pools - they are hidden away behind Horizon Court and also accessible via Deck 12 at the very rear of the ship.

Ports of call

Singapore

Loved our time before and after the cruise in Singapore.

Port Klang (Kuala Lumpur), Malaysia

Wanted to see the Petronas Towers which we did - but they were closed on a Monday when we were there. Otherwise KL is a mess and not easy to get around if you want to walk.

Penang (Pulau Pinang), Malaysia

Walk straight off the ship into George Town. Loved our walk around looking for street art and steel rod sculptures. Missed out on the E&O Hotel as we got a bit lost ... next time.

Phuket, Thailand

Don't bother getting off to spend time on the island - roads are clogged, traffic was awful, Patong Beach is busy and sleazy. Had an excursion to Duangjit Resort in Patong which was OK - not great - but a relief after walking around Patong. Maybe head out to Phi Phi and go snorkeling instead which we wished we'd done instead.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
All good - easy and orgainsed
