Review summary

We booked with friends and we were midship 14th deck & they were as far aft as you could get on the 8th deck. Would have been nice to be closer to them. However much preferred our location to theirs. Nice to be able to use the onboard message app but would be even better to have some kind of alert when you got a message.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Great service when dropping our luggage. Long lines prior to loading but I guess that’s to be expected.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food was great & plentiful.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Loved the Trivia. Wish there was more of that. Wouldn’t necessarily have to hand out prizes every time. Or maybe just a drink Credit instead of a prize or a piece of chocolate!

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
All staff that I encountered were great.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
When something is long and narrow there aren’t too many other choices for the layout. Did a lot of walking & waiting for the elevators. Lung & knee problems prevents me from too much stair climbing.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Loved the matttresses! The cabin was small but had everything necessary. One more accessible plug would have been handy.

Ports of call

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia

1 out of 5
Hate Vancouver but that’s got nothing to do with the cruise!

Astoria, Oregon

4 out of 5
Great Marine Museum!

San Francisco, California

4 out of 5
Just wandered around.

Santa Barbara, California Did not visit port

Didn’t feel there was anything that interested me.

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California Did not visit port

Disembarkation point.

Stayed in our room as instructed by the handouts only to find out we could have walked off much earlier if we’d just left our room when we were ready.

You are lucky you can compare cabins also. Motion, view, quietness, etc. I always book Decks 9 or 10 Aft (nobody further aft as I am on the back 'wall'). I love it. Looking forward to your post cruise comments.
