Review summary

Again, we took this cruise to get away and relax. We are at a point in life that we prefer (and are able to, being retired) take longer cruises. This one was our first since the pandemic and was especially attractive being Roundtrip SF (close to home) and afforded us the opportunity to visit family and friends in two of the four ports. We are sailing with Princess again on 5/27 (with another couple) to Alaska

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Incredibly smooth - especially impressive due to the fact most every passenger needed their medallions handed out.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We went only twice to each of the main dining rooms and found the service and food to be very good

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
This trip was short for us (we usually do longer cruises) - the intention was to get away and relax l, so we didn’t participate in hardly any activities. We did enjoy the movies under the stars and (we) were at the gym 7 times in the 7 days.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We took in only one evening show: Tom Franek. My husband and I enjoyed his show so very much. I’d say one of our favorite cruise ship shows ever.

Children's Programs

Our children are adults - this was just for the two of us to get away and start cruising again since the pandemic

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We can say we’ve not ever had “A bad room steward” but can say that Mahendra was exceptional

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship seemed to be immaculate

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Best cabin we have EVER been in! Large, comfortable - absolutely perfect! We felt like royalty and, the bed and pillows were luxurious!

Ship tip

If it’s chilly you can get a blanket or two, but have the experience of watching a movie under the stars!

Ports of call

San Francisco, California

We embarked and disembarked here

Santa Barbara, California

5 out of 5
We walked 7.29 miles at this port. Walking to the Mission and around - seems to be a very safe and nice city.

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California

5 out of 5
Our daughter picked us up at the pier and we spent the day visiting with her.

San Diego, California

5 out of 5
A family friend picked us up at this port and we spent the day visiting with them

Ensenada, Mexico

5 out of 5
We have been here quite a few times and really didn’t need (to buy) anything. We walked around for about 3 hours and did get a few little things

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
This was my 16th cruise- I think it’s safe to say “the smoothest disembarkation process ever!
