We anticipated a relaxing get away and that’s what we got. We can’t wait to take another cruise on the Royal Princess. It is especially nice since we live in the San Francisco Bay Area, so it is very convenient for us.

The X-ray for baggage was not working when we arrived. Consequently, there was a VERY long line and long wait. After that, everything went very smoothly.

Horizon Court food was good but pretty much the same each day. We really liked the pizzaria. Coffee in Horizon Court was generally very weak and, served in airports, often cold. I don’t know why the coffee urns were not working.

Overall good. Occasionally, servers in the Horizon Court we’re busy with conversation among themselves. The result, on those occasions, was very little attention and blocked aisles. Our cabin steward was remarkably good.
Ship Quality

Very clean and nicely laid out. For some reason the promenade deck was blocked with a “crew only” area so we couldn’t circle the deck without going inside. I don’t no if that was temporary and only on the day I tried it — being disappointed, I didn’t try a second time.
Cabin / Stateroom

The room was excellent. (Who wouldn’t like more room!! But it was perfectly adequate.) The cabin steward did an outstanding job of keeping it clean and tidy. The only drawback was the lack of an electrical outlet by the bed on the non-desk side.
We were in an early boarding group (silver 1) which was only to be behind the passangers with transfers. By the time we were called, the gangway way jammed. While departure times are designated, there seems to be no monitoring of the people departing whenever.
