Review summary

Love exploring the Caribbean islands, so do my two teens! Days at sea aren’t as enjoyable with limited activities. This itinerary could be better without Princess Cays, maybe Nassau or St. John instead? The Royal Princess was by far the best Princess ship we’ve sailed (best of 4).

Piece of cake!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Crown Grill was delicious as always. Pleasantly surprised with the buffet - food quality and options were far better than other Princess ships! Love included room service but wish they had an expanded breakfast menu.

Onboard Activities

Nice fitness center and recreational space on the deck. Enjoy movie under the stars.

Entertainment

Disappointed there was no magic show.

Children's Programs

One teenager loves the teen club, the other not so much. Not a lot to do for teens.

Cabin / Stateroom

Upgraded to a premium balcony overlooking the back of the ship/wake. Loved the quiet location at the back of the ship.

Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island)

Teens did stingray encounter and had a great time. Other than that, it’s a beach day. Our time there was a bit windy so the snorkeling wasn’t great. Included food was average.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

Rented a Jeep and explored on our own - worked great for us! Loved Coki Beach for snorkeling and Magens Bay just because!

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

Took a cab to zip line. Views were amazing. Downtown is a short cab ride or 20 minute walk from ship.

This ship is headed to Alaska in the Summer.

Would your teens sail Princess again or prefer another line?

The Royal class ships are definitely better at the buffet than the others Princess ships we have been on. Hope they get a Magic show back before we sail. Agree on the Cays stop. 279 days until the Sea of Cortez.

We love Princess too. The Royal is one of their newer ships.
