Review summary

My feeling is the ship was not ready for the cruise. Keep in mind this is a new ship on its second cruise. Food was below what I expect and the Cruise Director needs to be more active. Most of the staff worked very hard to make the cruise enjoyable.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Buffet breakfest is ok, takes a little time to get the better food. Buffet lunch isn't worth the time unless you want bread pudding which was good. Ended up going to the dive in (fast food burger and hot dogs and New York Deli & Pizza with the other passengers around me which so far is the best food I had onboard so far. Tried the lasagna in the main dining room which was so so, seemed close to store bought frozen. Staff seemed stretched thin. Another night I tried the prime rib in the dining room which was good. As the cruise progressed service and food improved but not up to my other cruises.

Lido Market

2 out of 5

Was disappointing and needs to change up its menu more, keep the food hot, add more serving staff, and not over or under cook the food. Overall I did not enjoy the taste but did enjoy the pork ribs which were not that warm. Bread pudding, apple pie, and chocolate mousse I enjoyed.

New York Deli & Pizza

4 out of 5

I ended up eating here after trying the dining room and buffet. Staff was good. The sandwiches and pizza were pretty good.

Dive-In

4 out of 5

Kept me fed and I enjoyed their onion straws as a side to my food.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Onboard for day two and there doesn't seem to be any live music during the day, just the evening starting at 530pm. One of the featured performances, the Ally Cats I did enjoy. The house groups in BB Kings and Rolling Stones areas were entertaining but some work needs to be done with the speakers. The two small pools as are the hot tubs. No real activities that interest me. Still have not seen the activity staff like I am used too. The ship seems to be for a laid back crowd that is in the 65 and older crowd that like board games.

Entertainment

4 out of 5

B.B. King's Blues Club

4 out of 5

The house band was enjoyable but the speakers in the venue still need to be tweaked as it's still a new ship

Rolling Stone Rock Room

4 out of 5

House band was entertaining and played a lot of songs I enjoy. The speakers still need to be tweeked as the ship is on its second cruise.

Service and Staff

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Had issues with water in some area and some floor weren't pitched right. Crew deployed wet/dry vacuum and fans. First day was worst, had to walk through large puddles.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
One of the two reading lamps over the bed was damaged but overall nice room.

Ports of call

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

Enjoyed the water and beach but not the food on the private island.
