My wife and I celebrated our 20th anniversary on this ship people say it's small and old but I like that some people don't and it is a very clean and well-kept ship

Super crew on an OK ship. Excellent excursions organized thru RC. by CruzerGuys

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall excellent cruise. However, we were disappointed with the nightly entertainment. Comedian 3 nights? Really? No other off-ship entertainers and we felt that the crew performances were not as good as other RC ships we have been on before.

Small ship with BIG adventure! by ChrisWel

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas

Wonderful time! This trip was not so much about the ship but about the excursions. Cave Kayaking in Costa Maya was amazing, Chocoban Ruins and Balagoon resort was spectacular, and Snorkeling in Roatan was relaxing and beautiful.

Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay on the Rhapsody. The crew were fantastic, attending to our every need and were super friendly. By the end of day 3 we we’re constantly being addressed by name, with smiles and being asked if anything could be done for us to make things better. Some travelers might find the ship being smaller and older than some of the Mega ships a bit boring since there are less things to do, especially for the under 30 crowd. We kind of liked it that way, since we didn’t have to wade through a sea of people and it was a very “zen like” peaceful cruise with both crew and guests interacting politely the entire time. Dining room food was a notch above the buffet, but even the buffet was better than most buffets ashore. Daily and nightly shows in the theater were for the most part, decent to very good. Only one show was what I’d call below average, we just went and did something else. Stateroom was spotless and our room attendant was pretty good throughout the whole trip. A tip for making your room less static, bring along a small Bluetooth speaker to connect with your phone music collection. Turns an otherwise stale room into your personal sanctuary.

I was very impressed with... by DixieSkelton

Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas

I was very impressed with this cruise ship. I loved the service. Everyone was so nice, both staff and fellow cruisers. We loved the shows. Ryan the gem guys was very friendly. I loved getting the charms very evening! Our stateroom attendant was awesome! I love the towel animals. We did the key package, it was well worth the money for people starting to cruise. We had lunch at chops (very good) as part of our key experience the day we left Tampa. We got to check in our bags and they took them to our room so we did have to worry about our carry ons. There was one lady in the centrum that was awesome getting drinks correct. She was short and had brown hair most of the time in a French braid! Take always: they don’t provide fans, so bring your own. There is only 2 outlets in the stateroom so you need to figure out how to plug everything in.

Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas

Great smaller ship. Being an older ship it was very well maintained. Staff was great. At full capacity it did not feel overcrowded. We felt this was a great ship for our family. It is easy to get around. We had 16 and the size made it easy to see and check in with everyone. Kids loved the staff at the kids club. Entertainment was good. We loved the egg drop competition. Newer movies on pool deck at night. Overall food was good. Pool was a nice set up did not feel over crowded. For this price point we would take this ship again.

The four of us had an excellent time. Eddy and Mahen from the Schooner bar, Anton our Stateroom attendant, Navin our dining room server, Gemma, Michael and Diego from the cruise directors staff made the trip unforgettable.

Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas

As many have said, this is an older ship. Well maintained, but staterooms need an update and are showing their age. On board, this ship class has few entertainment amenities- ex. no mini golf, no sports court, only one small pool, etc.. My 11 year old enjoyed the kids club, my 14 year old was kind of bored when on the ship at sea days. The service was excellent, food and shows good. The best part of this cruise was the itinerary (4 stops) and very little waiting for anything onboard (except the first day, Windjammer was crazy crowded and the pool deck).

This was a great time, cruised with my best friend Paul, found great time with just the right mix of poets and cruising. Dinner was definitely the highlight of this cruise, we had requested a Table for 2, we ended up in a section with 4 tables of 2. by gjocbus

We had a great time on a much needed vacation. Perfect mix of ports and cruising. Made some new friends and new experiences, can’t wait for my next cruise! I know I will have a great time and enjoy the time away from everyday life.

Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas

The ship is one of the older ships but still in good shape. If your looking for lot of activities on the ship. No putt putt course, no sport area. But the 4 ports make up for it. 4 port in 4 days you need the sea day to relax and enjoy the ship. Staff is great and we left feeling pampered.

Excellent food and service. Entertainment was so so. Comedians were great. WiFi is not worth the fee. Not enough time in ports. Ship seemed to move slow intentionally to drag out the cruise.

Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas

This was our first cruise and I was scared it would have not been fun as it was an older ship. But it was great. The food, the staff and entertainment was awesome. Someone here from shipmate, told us it was best that we started with Rhapsody as it will be just uphill from here and that’s so true. Others I met that did Princess and Disney were forever comparing.... Happy Cruising

I just got off the... by katattack

Sail date: /
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas

I just got off the ship today. I did not come onto this ship a week ago with super high expections about activities or entertainment because it is an older ship without all of the modern amenities. Therefore, that has nothing to do with my rating. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the entertainment and how well kept the pools/spas facilities were. I actually dont even like the mega ships because of the crowds despite the extra amenities. The service was also exceptional and the bartenders were some of the friendliest and most creative that I've ever met at sea or otherwise. The staff held my attention and everyone was very prompt as well as courteous. Everything was also impeccably well maintained. The adults only pool area was incredible and the hot tubs were actually hot and not luke warm like they have been on other ships I've been on. I also loved the activities and audience participation for so many of the shows. I took off one star because the beds were so hard that it felt like those bunk beds in the inside family cabins; I couldn't get comfortable enough to sleep more than 2 hrs at a time and I was constantly tossing and turning because I couldn't find a good position in those rock hard beds. They were only slightly better than sleeping on the floor and I felt like I was on the Flintstones sleeping on them lol that is a huge negative towards relaxing on your Cruise. My statetoom attendant was fabulous but I dreaded going to the room and going to sleep because the bed was just that uncomfortable (never had a bad bed on any of the Carnival & NCL ships ive been on except an upper bunk bed in an interior room). The other star taken off is because the MDR was absolutely awful imho. I tried the MDR for every meal and I think I only had one entree at lunch that I really enjoyed out of breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The food was well cooked and well presented but was practically flavorless. Even the desserts had no flavor and I went to the buffet for dinner instead a few times so I didn't have to wait for mediocre or bad food at least. In fact, I think that the buffet actually tasted slightly better than the MDR. I then paid for the specialty dining a couple of times just to have some good meals. I wish I could be more positive because I really loved the design, staff and entertainment but those are HUGE downsides to me. I don't expect 5 star amenties unless I'm on a luxury cruise line but I do expect the food to be good more often than not without having to pay extra $ alot and to have a comfortable statetoom to sleep in. I have had both of those experiences on Carnival and Norwegian for the same price or less.
