This was a great time, cruised with my best friend Paul, found great time with just the right mix of poets and cruising. Dinner was definitely the highlight of this cruise, we had requested a Table for 2, we ended up in a section with 4 tables of 2. by gjocbus

We had a great time on a much needed vacation. Perfect mix of ports and cruising. Made some new friends and new experiences, can’t wait for my next cruise! I know I will have a great time and enjoy the time away from everyday life.

Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas

The ship is one of the older ships but still in good shape. If your looking for lot of activities on the ship. No putt putt course, no sport area. But the 4 ports make up for it. 4 port in 4 days you need the sea day to relax and enjoy the ship. Staff is great and we left feeling pampered.

Excellent food and service. Entertainment was so so. Comedians were great. WiFi is not worth the fee. Not enough time in ports. Ship seemed to move slow intentionally to drag out the cruise.

Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas

This was our first cruise and I was scared it would have not been fun as it was an older ship. But it was great. The food, the staff and entertainment was awesome. Someone here from shipmate, told us it was best that we started with Rhapsody as it will be just uphill from here and that’s so true. Others I met that did Princess and Disney were forever comparing.... Happy Cruising

I just got off the... by katattack

Sail date: /
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas

I just got off the ship today. I did not come onto this ship a week ago with super high expections about activities or entertainment because it is an older ship without all of the modern amenities. Therefore, that has nothing to do with my rating. In fact, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the entertainment and how well kept the pools/spas facilities were. I actually dont even like the mega ships because of the crowds despite the extra amenities. The service was also exceptional and the bartenders were some of the friendliest and most creative that I've ever met at sea or otherwise. The staff held my attention and everyone was very prompt as well as courteous. Everything was also impeccably well maintained. The adults only pool area was incredible and the hot tubs were actually hot and not luke warm like they have been on other ships I've been on. I also loved the activities and audience participation for so many of the shows. I took off one star because the beds were so hard that it felt like those bunk beds in the inside family cabins; I couldn't get comfortable enough to sleep more than 2 hrs at a time and I was constantly tossing and turning because I couldn't find a good position in those rock hard beds. They were only slightly better than sleeping on the floor and I felt like I was on the Flintstones sleeping on them lol that is a huge negative towards relaxing on your Cruise. My statetoom attendant was fabulous but I dreaded going to the room and going to sleep because the bed was just that uncomfortable (never had a bad bed on any of the Carnival & NCL ships ive been on except an upper bunk bed in an interior room). The other star taken off is because the MDR was absolutely awful imho. I tried the MDR for every meal and I think I only had one entree at lunch that I really enjoyed out of breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The food was well cooked and well presented but was practically flavorless. Even the desserts had no flavor and I went to the buffet for dinner instead a few times so I didn't have to wait for mediocre or bad food at least. In fact, I think that the buffet actually tasted slightly better than the MDR. I then paid for the specialty dining a couple of times just to have some good meals. I wish I could be more positive because I really loved the design, staff and entertainment but those are HUGE downsides to me. I don't expect 5 star amenties unless I'm on a luxury cruise line but I do expect the food to be good more often than not without having to pay extra $ alot and to have a comfortable statetoom to sleep in. I have had both of those experiences on Carnival and Norwegian for the same price or less.

The ship was nice and... by GavinJefferson

Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas

The ship was nice and all updated and easy to navigate. The ports of call were fantastic, and the tours were really fun all though they are the same for every cruise line. The only thing is that the windjammer was only open at certain times and the only place you could go was the park cafe in the hot adult only area and the ice cream was eather close on one side or was really runny. But if you can choose your waiter then choose Imade and Geronelle at table 106. This was my 4th cruise and I would definitely do Royal againლ(´ڡ`ლ)

Overall a Satisfying Cruise Experience by elgordo40

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall , I enjoyed this cruise. Nice size of ship - not too big or small. Dining room staff, bar staff and entertainment were exceptional. Disembarkations generally started before announcements were made. Disembarkation at Belize ( a tender port) was a bit disorganized and they didn't provide much info. to the guests. After shows at night, entertainment was limited and not well planned. A good, basic cruise with no extras.

Good Winter Getaway by cindysstorey

We had a good time. It was nice to get away from "real" life for a few days. We had not been to 3 of the ports so it was fun exploring new locations.

Overall had an amazing experience on Rhapsody of the Seas, this was our first Royal Caribbean cruise. The ship was a little dated, but very clean and well maintained. The important stuff like the food and entertainment were great. We will definitely be sailing with Royal Caribbean again.

We had an amazing honeymoon... by AshLenz

Sail date: /
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas

We had an amazing honeymoon on Rhapsody. The staff was attentive and friendly. Our favorites were Max and John the baristas, Adriana the main dining hostess on the 5th floor, Dominic & Paul Dan the servers in the main dining room on the 5th floor. Our cabin was kept clean and other than the service elevator and hallway right behind our room, it was generally quiet. The food was wonderful in the main dining room, I’m a huge fan of escargot and had that every night. The staff at the spa was professional and helpful, I got acupuncture from Dr.Wong, he’s magical! My neck pain was gone for the trip which helped me enjoy it more! I had some sinus issues while onboard and I went to medical on the 1st floor, the nurse was super nice and gave me choices for treatment. It’s wonderful to see them taking good care of the guests! I could go on and on about the personalized service from the staff, which is why I love cruising and also why my husband and I love the smaller ships.

Rhapsody of the Seas to... by Pandora1955

Sail date: /
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas

Rhapsody of the Seas to the Western Caribbean was my first cruise and I have nothing to compare this experience with. We had an adequately sized interior cabin on level 2, mid-ship. Largely quiet and comfortable. Our stateroom attendant was Romeo and he always seemed to be there when needed. Staff were always polite and attentive. We enjoyed each of the ports in different ways. We preferred the Edelweiss MDR food to that of the Windjammer buffet. Best of all, Chops Grill. Plenty of distractions onboard, if one cares to participate. We were with extended family, and would often entertain ourselves. It’s a great ship to relax on. If it’s hustle and bustle you want, you might be happier with a larger class ship. Personally, I found the loud music in the Centrum area distractingly loud. One could not converse over the music. That said, I really enjoyed my time onboard Rhapsody I wouldn’t hesitate to board her again to go on one of her Greek island journeys … Though, I would not purchase their wi-fi package again. My one and only disappointment with the ship. It doesn’t work for everyone, everywhere...like my stateroom.

I loved the smaller ship... by jlr527

Sail date: /
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas

I loved the smaller ship experience. The service was outstanding and everything was clean and in working order despite the ship being on the older side. The food quality in the Windjammer and Main Dining Room was not consistent, but was mostly good...and great for being complimentary. The specialty restaurants were outstanding. The crew and staff were wonderful all around. There aren’t tons of fancy amenities on this ship, but it was just right for us—a younger couple not interested in a lot of partying or extra onboard activities—on a port-heavy itinerary with only 2 sea days. The Solarium is something I was looking forward to, but it was unbearably hot and smelled so strongly of chlorine we didn’t go there except to grab food. The main pool and hot tubs were pretty crowded when everyone wasn’t in port, so I didn’t get to use them as much as I planned. All in all, I am sure it’s not perfect for everyone but I would definitely sail on Rhapsody again.
