Greek Cruise by pd116

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

The Rhapsody is a beautiful ship. It's midsized so it's easy to find your way around it. The crew were all very pleasant. Only problem the first night we had a very uncomfortable mattress and had to wait till the next next day for a new one.

The ports were all beautiful! Especially liked Corfu and Kotor. The Acropolis is Athens was amazing and the blue and white houses in Mykonos were lovely!

Some of the shore excursion tour guides were really awful but I think that's the luck of the draw.

Overall, wonderful experience. Don't miss trying the local cuisine. It's delicious!

Beauty with a price tag on an old ship by BestOhanaUSA

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

We purchased the cruise to go to Ephesus, but that port was dropped week after our final payment. Replacement port was Kotor 45min ride by car from Dubrovnik which took entire day to get on the ship. Instead of letting us stay later into evening like the Princess did with their guests, we left beautiful Dubrovnik at 5PM only to waste time in the middle of Adriatic See.

Price of the cruise dropped after the decision to skip Turkey, but there was no refund possible by the Royal Caribbean company.

Santorini, Dubrovnik are worth the trip.  Kotor was ok and Katakolon with Olympia Archeological site 25min by rental car away has also a value.

Fabulous vacation! by koskabarb

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Europe

We truly loved this cruise.  The ship was just the right size.  Plenty of activities and choices, but not too huge.  I really enjoyed having a balcony so I could sit quietly, when I wanted, and watch the beautiful sea.  The food was fabulous and we also took advantage of a massage, haircut, and acupuncture!  So, it felt like we had some spa time too!  The ports were amazing....saw beautiful places.

Enjoyable Cruise Vacation by Chesia87

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Europe

We cruised from Barcelona to Venice with stops in France and Italy. The cruise was enjoyable. The ship was nice, clean, and comfortable temperature. Our stateroom was always clean, and the employees on the ship were extremely nice and always shared a smile. The food was great. We ate mostly at the Windjammer which was a buffet style. We also ate at the main dining room which was really nice, as well as two specialty restaurants.  The service and food was fantastic. Shore excursions were wonderful. Our last one in Venice was cancelled, not because of the ship but other reasons. We had a last minute booking for a late transfer, which then, the ship apparently overbooked and had to cancel ours. We were left last minute trying to figure out what to do in Venice as the boat docked at 7am and our flight was not until 5:30pm. We ended up leaving the ship at 9am and took the people mover into Venice, which was not far from the dock. In Venice, we were able to store our luggage at a luggage storage place for 5 euros per bag. We then explored Venice and took a bus to the airport. Overall, it wasn't bad and cheaper than doing the shore excursion, which included transportation to the airport. There was also some confusion on events and activities onboard the ship. We were never notified of the special events that would be occurring such as a 70s night and two formal nights. We knew there would be at least one formal night (as we've been on other cruises) but had not idea about the other or the 70s party. So we did not participate in those. Oh, and when signing up for the cruise, I signed up for the Café Select card which I thought would be on my ship identity card used to leave and board the ship. However, this card was different and was supposed to arrive in my stateroom. It never did. The ship left on a Saturday, and I didn't receive my card until Monday evening, after I told the café my situation several times they finally gave me one. So I had two days of not being able to enjoy my premium coffee that I already paid for.

Overall, I would recommend the ship and this cruise destination.

Royal Caribbean very Consistent by JonnSusan

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

Rhapsody is a small ship, entertainment is not very entertaining; but the friendliness of the crew is outstanding.  DanDan is a little over the top, as is Give me Money Grace.... you can count on Royal Caribbean to provide a consistently nice clean ship.

great weather by jfk4747

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Transatlantic

rhapsody is a smaller ship so it did not have much in the form of extra activities. the gym was small  and unless you went real early it got packed..zumba and other activities done in the centrum were very packed and some did it on all 3 levels. they had 3 speciality restaurants for extra charge and I think the small could have be used better for activities but that doesn,t  generate money for the cruise line. the food and entertainment were good .

Smith Cruise Review by sbbsmith64

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

For first time cruisers we had an excellent time.  We would recommend  this to everyone.  There was great entertainment and fun games to watch.  We really did not have any issues with our travels.  We plan to go again.

A Great Time, and a Great Value by GaryYovino

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The entire cruise was wonderful, from the staff, to the food, the cabin, the entire ship was a great experience. I would certainly do it again.

The excursion in Casta Maya was great, however, the route to walk to where you get on the bus for the excursion wasn't a great experience. Way off the beaten path, in a not so good area. The company who did the bus tour were wonderful, they were very knowledgeable and were very customer service oriented, gave us cold bottle water several time, and since the weather was so hot, everyone got a damp cold washcloth on the way back. Still a great time.

Great cruise by roseems

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Although an older ship it was well furnished.  Crew were terrific. Only complaint was that the pool had to be drained, cleaned and refilled on our last day due to a bowel movement in the water. They should make the toddler pool self contained and not just a large railing going across.

Great Cruise by overfielm323

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Great ship, Great Crew, Great Food, Interesting Ports of Call. Dining service was exceptional and fun - not so formal. We were on board the ship about 45 minutes before the cabins were available. The buffet was CRAZY! No seats, no plates. The staff was still amazing! My advice is to wait to board the ship after 1:30 (or whatever time you can get into the cabin). As soon as guest could get to their cabins, the buffet area cleared out and our Great Cruise began.

Fun cruise. by gunningr6773450

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Favorite part of the cruise was diner and the entertainment.   The seating at the Centrum was inadequate for the number of people on board.   I think they should have a separate children's pool due to a bathroom accident on the last day.

Overall great experience by adurden

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We enjoyed our cruise and the staff we personally dealt with was great. Our wait staff in dining deck 5, Vilfern and Charles, were amazing.  They went above and beyond. I am gluten free so they made my selections available the day before and worked with the head waiters to make sure my meal was as I needed and wanted it to be. They treated our table very well and were fun and made our dining experience one we didn't want to miss. We enjoyed the Rbar on deck 4 and Micheal was the best bartender on the boat. His drinks were awesome but he had a great personality and charisma about him which made you want to go there for your drinks. The two mixologist classes were great also that he administered.

We missed not having a sky bar at the pool and to be honest the pool bar service left a lot to be desired. Most days, especially sea days, they didn't have enough staff to serve the crowd. It was disappointing as normally the sky bar ends up being our favorite. We enjoyed the excursions and booked on the boat or prior to the cruise this time and that was a good experience. The Cruise Director and the Activities Manager were so great...worked well together and did a great job of entertaining and making it all fun. Definitely our top two groups of directors we have seen on a cruise.

Great itinerary by blee21968

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Fabulous choice on the ports of call.  Roatan turned out to be possibly the best port of call.  Belize was wonderful.  The ruins at Costa Maya are gigantic and well preserved.  Cozumel is an incredible place as well.

Spring Break Vacation by Cruiser10167665

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was beautiful. The ports of call were very accessible to us since we did not book any onboard excursions. The activities on board were good but not as excellent as some of the other cruises we have been on. The activities director was good, "Gimme Money Grace" however, the cruise director was not as animated and lively as some of the others that I have seen.

A nice experience by oscaravila

I liked the most the Casino and Poker tournament on board, but the Karaoke sessions were also extraordinary. It might be good idea if you had some slides at the pool for the kids and a refreshment of the open areas.

First Time Cruisers by scottishdo

Evening dinner was my favorite part of the cruise.  The dinning room was accessible and somewhat elegant.  The wait staff were knowledgeable and attentive.  The food was always excellent.  It was fine dinning every night.

Great ports...Not to Royal Caribbean standards by geauxsc

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Really enjoyed all of the ports.  Service in main dining room was outstanding. Not happy with self-assist disembarkation process. Had us standing and waiting outside on deck to get off.

Friendly crew, Ship is small and a bit old but in good condition.1 by Maianav

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Royal Caribbean staff is really very well trained and nice.  The itinerary was also good.  However, the seas were very rocky and the ship is small so we were really moving quite a lot and I got sea sick.  Roatan was beautiful.  Maya Island private island was great - but do not go into the monkey cage - they are vicious little guys. Belize should have been better - do not do the city tour!  Costa Maya - Chacchoben tour and beach with Toucan tours was AMAZING - hopefully you will get Frine as your guide.  She is incredible!  Cozumel was fun also.  The find is great, the activities were fun on the ship.  I would probably not go on this ship again because it is too small for rocky seas!

Western Caribbean Cruise on Rhapsody of the Seas by drtchewett

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Our stop in Costa Maya and visiting the Mayan temple and village remains was the highlight of the cruse from the excursion perspective. On board the best part was the evening dinner each day with new friends.
