This was a very nice experience, especially when you consider the value you are getting for your cruise dollar. I've heard that Princess ships offer very different experiences depending on which ship you just. This one is for the cruiser that just wants to relax and do things at a slower pace
Embarkation

30 minutes from door to ship. Not the best I've ever had, but pretty good. Not sure if the "green lane" saved much time, but It was good to have the room key in advance
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
This is a tough one to judge. One one hand, all the food offerings seemed on a higher level than the mainstream lines; but there were often inconsistencies in the serving temperatures in the MDR. No really heavily seasoned or spicy dishes either and you often felt all the offerings were geared to the senior set. I did generally like everything, but Mrs Jallaway often did not have kind words for several of the offerings
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Everything is a much slower pace with low impact offerings. Let's just say it's a cruise for adults that actually want to go on a cruise.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
High quality performances and pg rated comedians. Most of the music predates the 90's, which was good for me since I also predate that as well
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Everyone was very pleasant and professional. Not a bad attitude to be found
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
It took awhile to get accustomed to it since the layout was different from many ships I've been one; but it seemed to be an effective design and was always kept immaculate
Cabin / Stateroom

The balcony was a bit smaller but the room itself was fine. We were surprised to find few drawers, but have the small cubby hall leading to the closet and bathroom (with a motion sensing light!) was a better benefit
Ship tip
This cruise is definitely for the mature cruiser that appreciates cruising and service for what it is.
The most open-minded review of Prince I've ever read. This makes me consider wanting to actually sell on Princess at some point in the future, maybe this summer. IF it's not too crowded.
Willwork, it wasn't the selections so much as the lack of seasonings and minimal use of salt. Many items were a little on the bland side. One item, the vindaloo, was the mildest I've ever come across. Not so much a complaint; but more of an observation as I heard the comment from more than one passenger.
Thanks for sharing your cruise experience with us and including the details too. We haven't tried a Princess cruise yet, but being close to Galveston this sounds like a nice option for a first trip.
Thanks for your review. I found the Regal Princess to be a nice ship.. Sounds like some things have changed since I sailed with Princess. I'm glad you enjoyed..
Awesome review and pretty much my experience as well. We take a lot of Princess cruises, not because we don’t like the other lines but because Princess is often the best value. I certainly wouldn’t pay more for an RC cruise. What kind of foods would be geared towards an older clientele? Do you mean classic dishes like Steak Dianne and Veal Scallopini vs vegan and some kind of fusion dishes?
