Review summary

Really a great time to try a cruise! The deals are cheap and great service with limited guest capacity.

Quick and easy with the reduced passenger loads.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Visiting the main dining room was something I looked forward to every day. My wife has a severe food allergy and everyone in the dining room took extra care of her. This experience made me so happy to see she could partake in trying new dishes, something she's typically restricted from doing due to her allergy, was a highlight of my trip and only made possible by the staff. Alexia and Harold knew exactly what our table would be interested in each night, providing helpful suggestions and insights into our meals. They made us feel welcome and I would dine with them every night on land if I could!

Entertainment

The Club 6 DJ was a real let down, couldn't tolerate his talking over the music. Tried to leave the club to find another bar on the ship only to realize the only bar open after 11pm is in the club; this was a bit frustrating. Comedian was good, had mostly boomer tropes like "wife bad" "husband useless" "kids these day" but did know (99% of) his audience so I can't exactly be upset. He got some laughs out of me with his cruising related jokes!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Alexia and Harold in the main dining room were the best wait staff I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I wish I could have tipped them more at the end of our cruise; we sent along every remaining bill we had from the trip! Their service and attention to detail elevated our dining experience from delicious to

Really can't complain when there are more crew than guests!

Totally worth the upgrade. I was especially impressed with the shower. I could stand up all the way in the shower - on a ship!

Ship tip

Wrap up your partying by 11pm because there is only one bar open after that time of night.

Seemed fine to me

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

The Snorkeling and Catamaran experience (6h) was such a great deal. Two sites of snorkeling with multiple reefs, lunch and an open bar included, then sailing back across the bay for ~3h, chatting, enjoying the sun and sea, and relaxing on the netting. Couldn't have asked for a better day!

Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island)

Meh, it's a beach. Not much to say here. Fine, but not that exciting. Won't be around in 50 years due to sea level rise so check it out before it's gone I guess!

Seemed fine, nothing exciting.
