Review summary

The Regal ship is beautiful. Big. Lots of amenities and entertainment venues. It was a theme cruise (80s) and they definitely knew how to do it. The bands on board were all good. The Princess theater production and shows were amazing, the comedian too (Cesar Oscar? 🤔🙄😁). Ship is kept like new! Last minute booking, pricing was spectacularly good. Medallion app: SUCKS (but they know).

Perhaps because it was a small amount of passengers food variety was not as Princess is known for. However, everything was good. The buffet was limited but good enough, hardly any self-serving, even utensils are brought to you once you are seated. Plenty of happy servers around. Alfredo's, the pizza and the burgers joints, and the Cafe at the piazza were very good.

Not the biggest cabin in the world but good for at least two people, not more than that. Big balcony in the front of the ship, Lido deck. Love it. Had to figured out how to eliminate the sound of hangers clicking with ship motion (which was not bad).

Ship tip

Check your account before leaving the ship. There is an error on my statement and I have been trying to speak to someone for the past three days!!! Chat not even working. Sent emails. Awful CSR experience after the cruise.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

First time at Amber Cove and my first time in the Dominican Republic. The port is pretty, nice pool and areas to walk. No beach (bummer). Tour of the mountain gardens and town of Puerto Plata highlights. The gardens and views were amazing. They took us up there by bus, not the cable car (🤔😒🙄).

Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island)

Not as good beach as in Half Moon Cay but good enough. Beautiful. Take towels from the ship. Island staff was not as friendly as the ship crew.

I'm in the Caribbean Princess now and finally was able to clear the incorrect charge to my account while in the Regal through "guest services" on this ship. Almost two months and nobody from corporate answered a phone or replied to my emails. The guys at the Caribbean Princess went above and beyond to help me. Thank you, guys!
