Review summary

I was excited for this cruise as it had been 25 years since my last one. So removing the 2 unfortunate incidents we experienced on this cruise, I will definitely being doing another once all this COVID nonsense has died down. Princess offered 25% off future cruise and I'm going to take full advantage of it!!!!!!!

Embarkation

Piece of cake with the medallion device. Once you shuffled through the line outside and security, it literally took me about 5 minutes while it took my traveling companion about 45 minutes. She didn't have the medallion device ahead of time. My tip for future cruisers is to get that medallion before you go!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
We only went to the MDR on the first and last nights. I'm not a picky eater, but that being said, it wasn't that great either. I've had filet mignon many times in my life and never had gristle in it! The food in the buffets was plentiful, if you couldn't find something to eat here, then you have a problem. We are many times at Alfredos and loved the coffee and goodies at the International Cafe! The"gelato" tasted nothing like gelato, more like ice cream.

Entertainment

The comedian was great! They also had a Beatle impersonation group and they were fantastic! We didn't go to any other shows.

Service and Staff

Wow! I'm sure these people are not being paid what they're worth. I'm talking about the room stewards, maintenance people, waiters, bus people, etc..

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
I didn't go looking for faults in this area.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had a regular balcony cabin. I couldn't believe how big it actually felt. More than enough room for two women and our stuff. The bathroom was roomy with two shelves and a large countertop. Closet space was ample with enough hangars for the two of us. And more than enough drawers and shelves to store everything else.

Ship tip

Get your medallion device BEFORE you board.

Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island)

We didn't do much here except to hang out at the beach and walk around a bit.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

Took a pretty good excursion that took us to a few spots. Spent some time in town and upgraded a diamond I had bought on a trip here in 2006.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

We took an awesome 4+ hour Princess soon around the whole island. It hit most of the hot spots and the Maho Bay beach area. Unfortunately only one small plane landed while we were there. Take dollar bills with you on this island as this is the only way you can use any public restroom. 😮

Disembarkation

Where do I start. We disembarked 19 hours after the initial announcement concerning the unexpected request from the Coast Guard to test the two crew members. Captain Stringer deserves a lot of credit for now he handled a difficult situation. Once we finally arrived in port it took another hour and a half for us to disembark, but this went remarkably quick.
