Review summary

We always sail with Princess and love it! We had a wonderful time and can’t wait for our next cruise in March on the new Sky Princess!

Embarkation

Embarkation was much faster with the new medallions.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We have always thought the food on Princess is top notch. We dined two evenings in the Crown Grill, a couple evenings in the buffet, a couple nights in Alfredo’s, and one night in the dining room. Everything was excellent.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Lots of different things to do for all ages. We usually spend sea days on upper decks, specifically the sanctuary. We couldn’t get into the sanctuary this cruise, which was frustrating, so we ended up having to get up pretty early on the sea days just to be able to get chairs.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
I’m not much for shows, which is the reason for the four stars. We saw a comedian one night, who was hilarious. We also saw a show another night. The singers and dancers worked hard and did a wonderful job.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The service is always exceptional on Princess. The crew goes above and beyond to make you feel safe, comfortable and happy.

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We normally stay in a mini-suite because we can’t seem to take advantage of all the amenities available with a suite. However, this time a suite became available to us at the right price and we took it. We love the extra space in a suite and our cabin steward did a wonderful job of keeping it clean.

Ship tip

If you can get into the sanctuary on sea days, it’s so worth it! We weren’t able to on this one and we were so frustrated and disappointed because we stood in line for two hours. We thought we were there early enough (went as soon as we boarded the ship).

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

5 out of 5
Fort Lauderdale is the best port to sail from/to!

Falmouth, Jamaica

5 out of 5
We were skeptical about river rafting on the Martha Brae, but we were pleasantly surprised. This is not anything near white water rafting. Two people sit on a nice comfortable cushioned bench on hand made bamboo rafts. There is one guide per raft who uses a bamboo pole to maneuver the raft along the nice slow moving river. The scenery was beautiful and the float was very relaxing.

Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island)

5 out of 5
We just love to hang out on the beach. I think the water in the Bahamas is the clearest, most blue water in the Caribbean.

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
We usually just go to a beach in Cozumel, however this time we decided to do an excursion. It ended up being a really long day and too much time in transportation. From now on, we will just stick to going to a beach for the day.

George Town, Grand Cayman

5 out of 5
We swam with the stingrays, which we had done in the past. Such beautiful, intriguing creatures. Definitely a must do excursion, especially if you have never done it.
