Review summary

This was a fun cruise and the fun increased toward the end. The weather was harsh at times but that is understandable for the time of year. There are things that could be done to give the experience that wow factor. See my specific comments.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
They could improve overnight options as the options are mainly leftovers from the day.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The spa and exercise facilities were good. I would like a water slide. The entertainment was very fun, less so early in week but the stage shows and comedian were especially fun. There is TOO MUCH commercialism disguised as activity. Need more educational and fun activities and less emphasis on selling!!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Teacake is great but needs back up singers and dancers to bring up to 'Vegas level'.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Front desk was slow, somewhat hard to find cabin steward compared to the other cruises we have been on. The buffet staff seemed to try too hard to give me juice and coffee all the time. I would want them easily accessible and I want to approach them, not vice versa.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Smaller compared to other ships for the cost. The toilet absolutely stunk!!! We asked the steward to clean well so there was one or two days without the odor in the bathroom but then this was not attended to again in the end. The cabin toilets should not stink. The toilets in the common areas do not.

Ship tip

Take in the shows and get out on the exercise areas. Adults can find quite areas away from the mayhem of the main deck area if you try. Enjoy the sit down dinner in the evening.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

4 out of 5
The embarkation/disembarkation experience is great. Transportation is well organized and without delay. There is nothing to walk to and enjoy as there is in port such as Galveston.

Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island) Did not visit port

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

3 out of 5
Very crowded and no wow factor. Megan beach NOT A TOP TEN DEFINITELY. This was not advertised properly. The tour was just a bus ride to the crowded beach. Need to give real informative tours with drivers who can speak understandable English!

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

5 out of 5
This island has lots of potential and is the best of the islands we visited. There are a lot of preserves in the French side. Why can't these be visited as they would make outstanding tour destinations?? The beach and shopping areas are MUCH better than St. Thomas. Princess should take advantage of that.

We have never had bathroom issues in our rooms. I can say I have also never been on a cruise they weren’t trying to sell you something. That is how they make money.

Sorry you had a bathroom issue. We have been on this ship several times and have not had any unpleasant bathroom smells.
