Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Ate each night in Symphony (anytime dining) and the food was delicious, with lots of variety. The servers were alwAys eager to bring us extra of anything we liked, or bring us more than one entree or appetizer if we wanted to try something. Ate in Alfredo’s twice for lunch ... best kept secret on the ship. Delicious wood oven pizza , salads, anti pasta etc. Buffet was large with many choices ,never difficult to find seating. Wait staff was attentive with coffee and orange juice in the morning .

Onboard Activities

Adult pool was nice Movies under the stars each night on the top deck with padded loungers, blankets ( not needed on this particular cruise) & popcorn. Movies were current & good choices .

Entertainment

Ship Quality

Extremely clean .

Cabin / Stateroom

It was a mini suite with a standard balcony . We had 4 people in the room( 2 adults, 2 teenagers) no complaints about the size, never felt crowded. Beds are so comfortable , even the kids commented on the how comfortable the Pull- outs were . Very clean and well maintained by our steward .

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

No excursion , but stayed over night before and after the cruise. Rooms are very over priced.

Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island)

Lovely day on the beach, sat near the volleyball court so the kids could play . It was very quiet on that side of the island, most people went to the other side . Lunch was good. No frozen drinks available which was a bit of a disappointment.

Falmouth, Jamaica

The port had a few shops, but beyond the port , NOTHING ! Took an hour bus ride to Dunn’s River Falls . Areas beyond the port were quite sketchy with lots of garbage on the streets. Driving was a bit scary, lots of honking and passing when it wasn’t exactly safe. Really enjoyed Dunn’s River Falls , it was the high light of the Jamaica stop . After the Falls stop, the bus took us to Bamboo Beach Club and it was very disappointing. It was advertised as all you can eat & drink ... but food was late coming out and drinks were scarce. The VIP bus was 30 minutes late getting back to the ship because they waited so long for their food. There were way too many bus loads of people and the resort could not handle the volume. Only two toilets so you had to wait 20-30 minutes to use the bathroom. Beach was okay, but no where near as nice as Doctors Cave public beach in Montego Bay. I would not recommend the beach break excursion, but I would recommend the Falls.

Took a taxi on our own to Seven Mile Beach . It cost $5-6 per person each West , and $20 to rent 2 chairs and an umbrella on the public beach. It was my favourite part of the trip. The beach was stunning ... clearest water I have ever seen. Jet skis ( $50 for 30 minutes) and banana boat rides ($20 per person) were available on the beach but we did not use. I walked down the beach to a beautiful outdoor restaurant and had a great pina colada. My husband had amazing jerk chicken from a guy named Seymour who set up shop on the beach.

Cozumel, Mexico

Love this port, tons of shopping and restaurants as soon as you walk off the ship. Taxis are readily available with set prices so you don’t need to look for the best deal. We took a taxi to Nachi Cocum Resort and had a beautiful day on the beach . Highly recommend this resort if you are looking for a quiet day on a tranquil beach setting. I arranged this excursion on my own ahead of the cruise. (Taxi ride was $17 one way for 4 people) . Resort cost $69 per person for an all inclusive day. Our friends went to Paradise Beach for a more lively time. ( similar cost) .
