Review summary

We were stuck on the 15th Deck right under the Lido and we called many times to complain about the noise coming from deck 16. They said it was the kitchen and all the activities that happen on deck 15. We even asked if we could be moved, upgraded or whatever we had to do and to no avail... I believe that the person who we talked to should have known that the noise was on deck 16. It sounded like they were bowling or something there.. On the last night we called again and they wanted to send a repairman up at 1:30 am to check out the noise. I told her NO. We had to get out of the room by 8 am and still hadn't been to sleep yet... What a disruption in our plans.. We didn't partake in the shows or any on board things but the noise was totally disruptive.. The room was so small.. The closet was bigger than the bathroom... And when do they charge for a glass of milk? that is the stupidest thing I have ever heard of.. And the bananas were not out for us till the last day of sea.. Nothing available before that.. (afraid of running our I guess) Overall I will never cruise with Princess again....Very disappointing ...

Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island) Did not visit port

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas Did not visit port

Philipsburg, St. Maarten Did not visit port

We tried to take an excursion and was booked for the tour on the bus but the person booking told us we had to walk 800 yards ( 4 football fields) just to get to the port.. We told them that that was impossible and asked if they had carts to take us to the port from the ship and she said sometimes not to sure about that.. We couldn't take that chance of having to walk it so we cancelled and we looked outside after and sure enough there were carts to take you to port. We were very disappointed and the director should have known her stuff... ruined it for us for sure..

It's hard for me to see this review as helpful for a few reasons: 1) You didn't do your homework before booking your stateroom. One of the most common tips is to be weary of staterooms that are immediately above dance clubs and immediately below the lido deck because of the noise. 2) You didn't participate in any activities or entertainment. If just relaxing in the sun is your thing then great, but a big part of cruising is taking advantage of those activities and entertainment. 3) You didn't do your homework about the port (St Maarten and the carts to usher people to and from the ship.) I'm sorry you had a terrible experience, but I don't see how any of this is really Princess's fault. I hope you have a better experience next time.

Sorry you had a bad cruise experience. We loved the Regal ship when we went. Something I do before I cruise any ship, is watch cruise advisors on YouTube. They will go over what rooms to avoid and which rooms have noise issues. It has helped me.

A good, humanTA will know this stuff....cruise line reps probably will not since many never set foot on a ship. Use cruisedeckplans.com too. You can see what is above and below you. Don't blame the cruise line. Caveat Emptor.

I only ever book a cabin with cabins above below and each side . I always pick my own cabin as a travel agent has poor cabins he needs to off load

Before you book a cruise on whatever cruise ship, you should look at the layout plans on your iPad or phone. Don’t rely on the travel agency to tell you where your room is situated. Sorry to hear hope you had a good cruise anyway.
