Review summary

First Princess cruise. Very enjoyable and relaxing. Would travel with them again. Travelled as a couple, usually have our older children with us, or other family members, so a different experience for us all around.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Very quick and seamless - from parking lot to stateroom in 45 minutes.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Did not do specialty dining - to me would not be worth extra when so many other options. Main Dining Room was very good. I like being served on vacation so only used the buffet sparingly- was good, but found the set up a little confusing and had some trouble finding seats.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Main pool so cold could only dip feet in. Not many people using it. Heated pool in retreat area was appreciated. Zumba class was fun.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
All of the shows were very enjoyable and well performed and planned. Theatre is well set up. Loved that there was always something going on in the Piazza area - made just walking through enjoyable.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Did anytime dining - waiters were hit and miss, but mostly very good. Head waiters were always attentive. Never saw our room steward except on the first day - did his job, nothing special.

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
I liked that it had a shower curtain versus a door as it feels more spacious and not hitting elbows into walls while washing. The closet space and layout also worked well for a small space.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

4 out of 5
Embarkation point - did not visit other than to get on and off the ship. Very congested for driving around.

Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island)

Relaxing day at the beach

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

5 out of 5
Just walked around the port area, so really not much to say.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

4 out of 5
Walked to the beach and shopping area near the ship and Philipsburg. People very friendly. Port is still recovering from the hurricanes, but still beautiful.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Alll went smoothly - well organized
