Review summary

This was an amazing cruise for my mother, my sister and I. Couldn't have been any better.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
This was my second cruise on Princess, and it couldn't have gone any smoother. We took the bus from Fort Myers to Fort Lauderdale. When we arrived at the terminal our luggage was taken off the bus and moved to the loading area. We went inside and had no wait time to board the ship. Everyone was friendly and helpful

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food in the main dining room was very good. I love the choices offered and normally follow the waiter's suggestions. We also ate at the grill by the pool, the buffet and ordered room service and everything was delicious. The pastries at the coffee shop on the 5th floor are amazing.

Outrigger Bar

Our bartenders Michael and Chris were really great. The remember their customers and drink orders, they are funny and very customer oriented. Kudos to all the bartenders.

Princess Theater

We attended the "Beatlemania" concert and it was a lot of fun. Sounded good and the crowd had a blast.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We had excellent service from our steward, Robert, (15th floor) and our waiter, Marian and jr waiter, Roski in the Symphony Dining Room.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Once you figured out where things were and what elevator would get you there it was great. We liked the location of our cabin, but it took a couple days to figure out the easiest way to get to midship from there with my mom using her walker.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our cabin was great and our balcony was amazing. There were three ladies travelling together, so at night it was wall to wall beds, but we managed fine. We spend more time on our balcony than in our room. It was big enough for 3 chairs, 2 footstools, a table and room to move around. It can get pretty warm if the sun is shining directly on it (no overhang), but most of the time it was amazing.

Ship tip

It may take you a few days to learn where everything is, but you will and it's ok. Remember that you cannot go to the 5th floor from the rear elevators and you can't walk the length of the ship on the 6th floor so your best bet if your room is aft is go to the 7th floor and enjoy a leisurely walk. Also, you get out what you put in here as well as anywhere, if you smile and are friendly you will make friends and have amazing service, but if you are surly and complain, that you'll get the same back.

Ports of call

Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island)

5 out of 5
I like Princess Cays. The beaches are nice, the water is beautiful and they have a quaint little bar with a couple guys playing local music. Most things are purchased with your room key, but there are local vendors that have adorable offerings for cash.

Falmouth, Jamaica

5 out of 5
We decided to decide what we wanted to do once we reached the port. We had a great 1 hour tour in an open trolley. It was well worth the $20.00 cost. We visited some local vendors outside the main shopping area, stopped at a beautiful church with an old cemetary, stopped by a little beach where we could put our feet in the water (took 5 years off my life) and some other great locations. Our driver was ByeRon and our tour guide was a hilarious young lady with beautiful hair; they both were very funny. We witnessed a "high speed chase", but that's another story.

George Town, Grand Cayman

5 out of 5
We took a short tour of several parts of the island including "going to hell" and visiting the dolphin (my favorite). Worth the price. We were in a van with several other couples and our driver's name was Christopher. He told us much about the history of the island.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
We enjoyed Cozumel; although we did not leave the port area. Our waiter, Marian, suggested a restaurant for lunch by the shore and it was amazing. We did some shopping, had fun negotiating with the vendors and returned to the ship early

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Disembarkation was easy. Walked off, found our luggage, through customs and ready to catch our bus back to Fort Myers.
