Review summary

Ok cruise, will book with a better travel agency next time. Princess is starting to get pretty cheap on the food and beverages that they serve on board. I think from here on out will be sticking with Celebrity Cruises.

Food and Dining

Food the first 2 days was great but the rest of the time it was bland and most of the food on buffet was warm to cool nothing very hot or fresh tasting.

Service and Staff

Room steward was ok, but didn't have much personality and only vacuumed the room twice during the whole cruise. Wait staff were ok, confused at least one order at every meal.

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

For the peice it was way too small. Deluxe balcony didn't even have a couch. Friends who booked with different agency and only on 2nd Peincess cruise were upgraded to a better room than we were and we have been on 5+ princess cruises each. were pretty crap at peoviding any extra services.

With respect, not everything is perfect on every ship every time. The cruise is supposed to be fun, entertaining, relaxing and romantic. Take a step back and embrace what's around you, "Come Back New" as they say. Cabin stewards have many cabins and like anything else some are better than others. We like to leave a couple dollars and some candy on the pillow everyday. Travel agency - if Princess offers an upgrade, it is emailed to the agency, then the agency emails it to you for acceptance or rejection. You, in turn, contact Princess to accept. Rejection requires you to do nothing. Interestingly we were on the Princess Regal for two cruises in Nov 2017 with a deluxe balcony and did not have issues with any of the shipboard experiences. Our cruises were just fine. Show gratitude and don't expect perfection. If you have a real issue, talk to a manager. So don't sweat the small stuff, it's all small stuff. Hope you have a better cruise next time.

I’ve been on over 30 cruises (princess, holland, Royal Caribbean, and celebrity). I have only received ONE cabin upgrade. Do not book a cruise with the expectation of an upgrade. Pick a cabin type that you will be happy with. Food likes and dislikes are subjective. If you try cooking for thousands of people at one time, you would know that you are not going to please everyone all the time. Next time, see if there is a “behind the scenes” tour on your ship. It will give you a better understanding of how things work.

If you have the experience of cruising you know to book your own cruise pick your own room your own floor and your own excursions through their website. If you experienced a bad cruise that was your fault. I am taking my 6th and have been on both royal Caribbean and princess with no negatisum..you must be doing something wrong

They seem to be random! They got one on their first cruise...I think it was to entice them to sail again in the future. lol you know how they are when they hook you. 😎

Thanks @sytrace! I mostly cruise with HAL but have never been offered an upgrade. Maybe next time! 😁

I have had a different experience with HAL where they offered client an upgrade via the agency booked with and were given a time limit to accept or decline. It was handled totally thru an agent. They took the upgrade.

I learned recently that if you book through an agency, the cruise line will not handle upgrades. They directed me back to the agency to “see what they could do”. And that was for a Celebrity cruise. Although comments about the food on Princess is unfortunate. We just sailed the Star Princess and the food was excellent. Sorry to hear that the Regal did not meet your standards. But I agree, Celebrity is a great line as well! Stick with what you like.

I don't understand how the type of room you ended up with has to do with the agency. Didn't you ask for a type of cabin and book the cabin you wanted? After 5 cruises, you would probably know which one you would like best. Agencies don't get to choose who gets an upgrade, that comes from the cruiseline. Maybe they got an offer to upgrade and took it? Trying to understand how the agency would be held accountable for the cabin you were given if that is what you chose and paid for.

There are lots of ships and cruises company's we never book through an agent always book direct on line you can choose your cabin level and type of cabin and if the price gets reduced they change the cost its a win win ... enjoy try it am sure you will be more happier.. 🍹😎
