First ever Christmas cruise. The ship was definitely sold out. There were lots of people on board but it still had the home like feel of a Radiance class ship. Crew were amazing as always. Food improved as the cruise went on. Onboard activities started off strong but slowly dissipated as the cruise went along. There was lots of Christmas spirit. Overall, I think this cruise was very good.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Embarkation was pretty smooth. Dropped off our luggage, went inside and the employees actually let us check in at the Suite area even though we didn’t book one. One issue was that my seapass card didn’t load on the app so they had to check the manifest to find my name so we could enter the port building.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
On The first day the food wasn’t very good. The prime rib and “custard” jello deserts I had weren’t up to par. But as the cruise went along the buffet and MDR food exponentially improved. I had some great spiced chicken curry, New York strip steak, French onion soup, chicken parm, and chocolate cake.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
The onboard activities were solid. The classics (Belly flop, WSM, and Crazy Quest) were all great. But some of the new types of trivia and activities just weren’t great and were so far fetched. Also on the final couple of nights, there were less and less things to do.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
I didn’t go to any stage shows but the musicians and DJs I heard were all great.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
EVERY single interaction I had with the crew was all positive. They seemed to love what they do. The Radiance crew felt a sense of pride with fantastic enthusiasm. The whole crew also had the holiday spirit and went above and beyond to provide great service. Treat them well and they do the same.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
I love the design of the Radiance class cruise ships. They hold a homey and nautical design while also being easy to get around. The extra glass decor brings perfect views of the ocean. The ship was also spotless clean.
No excursions. Just enjoyed the basketball court, food, and beach. It’s always great. Water was freezing but there is still plenty of free stuff to do.
Thanks for sharing. This was a great review! Holiday cruises are the best! Congratz on your first & many more holiday cruises to come! Happy cruising
