Review summary

We went Queens Grill to treat ourselves and it was shockingly awful. Cunard promises a wonderful experience with a butler who sees to your every whim.... we never saw ours once. I don’t believe they exist. I need extra pillows to sleep more upright and I asked three times for these but they never came..... like the elusive butler! Our cabin also wasn’t made up in the morning and when returning at lunch time I had to call and get someone to come to do it. Also although I complained on board 3 times about the shoddy service no one did anything about it. Cunard shouldn’t advertise a service they don’t actually provide. It must be false advertisement. To add insult to injury the stewards decided to move our personal belongings off our bed and strip and remake it for the next guest even though we hadn’t even vacated the cabin. We hadn’t even finished packing and had gone for breakfast. Cunard think this is acceptable and even though I complained about the non existent butler, the fact no one acted on my complaints even though I met the concierge face to face and spoke to them on the phone, no chance of an extra pillow and being thrown out of our room by the stewards before we even finished packing. It cost over £900 for two days and it was definitely not worth it. When I complained when I got home Cunard said sorry that was it. So if you want to go on a cruise and be ignored, get frustrated and complain but still be ignored and have an awful time go ahead this is the cruise for you.

Don’t go queens grill unless you want to be ignored and virtually thrown off when the staff decide to clean your cabin and move all your personal belongings before you’ve even left. Absolutely disgusting. And Cunard don’t care

We did the Queen’s Grill on the Queen Victoria back in 2017 and can’t fault the experience. We are due to sail on the QEII out of Shanghai on 5th April and hope that we don’t experience what you did. I personally would expect Cunard to compensate me in some way via onboard future cruise credits or the difference between the Queen’s Grill cost and balcony stateroom if that had happened to me. It is certainly not acceptable and won’t do them any favours when this kind of thing happens.

We have sailed Cunard a dozen times and have always experienced excellent service. When you are a Grills passenger the A la Carte section are included in your fare. We cruised in Britannia and Princess Grill and have always found the food and service be superb. Most cruise lines expect you to be out of your cabin early and suite passenhers are provided with a comfortable lounge to wait with coffee and pastries. It is strange that your butler never arrived. I'm sorry your experience was less than enjoyable. Hope your next cruise is better.

If you aren't packed up by morning, they wont wait for you. They need to get the room cleaned for the next cruise customers. We always pack at night so they can do their job. Not sure about the butler.
