A nice ship, but don't go in with high expectations (ie like that of foreign flagged ships). While we had heard on other forums horror stories on almost every aspect of the POH, we experienced none of it. We had a mostly efficient crew. The ship was well maintained.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Buffet was good quality, never a wait. Could have had more variations as the week went on. Some items disappeared (plain yogurt) as the week went on. We did not like the Mexican restaurant- no guacomole left by day 5, One item only available for two people turned out to be a plain steak with some bland garnish. Flan arrived in a pool of an unidentifiable liquid, and tastless. Italien Bistro was very good.
Entertainment

Dancers and singers did not dazzle. Shows were mediocre. Comedy team (Full Impact) were very funny on one show, and a snoozer at another.
Service and Staff

I didn't see much "going above and beyond" Most were average, did their jobs, mostly friendly and helpful- just not exceptional.

A new ship, very nice condition.
Cabin / Stateroom

A nice room, but they should not sell it for 4 people- too small.Still, it was clean, a nice bathroom. We didn't spend alot of time in it anyway.
Rented a car and went to Volcanos nat'l park and black sand beach. Security measures (not the fault of the cruise line) and need to shuttle to get a rental car cut into shore time and definitely put a cloud over the time there.
The only port with an accesible beach and easy shopping without travelling .Security measures (not the fault of the cruise line) and need to shuttle to get a rental car cut into shore time and definitely put a cloud over the time there.
Rented a car and toured the island. Most of the Island is very pricey and a bit snooty for our tastes. Security measures (not the fault of the cruise line) and need to shuttle to get a rental car cut into shore time and definitely put a cloud over the time there.
