My cruise to the Hawaiian Islands on Pride of America was a wonderful trip. The beautiful sights, wonderful food, and great excursions made it memorable. The ship, though older, was very well-maintained and clean. The staff was outstanding and very helpful. I loved being in a different port almost every day, and the overnight stay was a delightful experience. While the excursions were a bit overpriced, renting a car was a great alternative. This trip was a bucket list item, and I would love to visit again.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Staff was great but we embarked through a port that the ship doesn't usually use due to being in drydock and got the warehouse experience.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining

Wonderful and the staff was fantastic!
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Most of the activities were during the day, but each day we ported somewhere new so you wanted to get off the ship, the pools, shopping and fitness were okay its an older ship so you have to take that into consideration not a lot of bells and whistles.
Entertainment
2 out of 5
We loved the Polynesian/Don Hoe tribute musicians at the back of the ship, after venturing out all day in port we would come back have cocktails and listen to them every evening! I was pretty disappointed that their was not more variety or a Broadway show of some type. We had a magician and comedian which were good, but we were super disappointed that the Polynesian show was the same night as Luau off the ship so we missed it.
Children's Programs
We did not bring children on this trip.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Top Notch service all around on this ship, so much better than other ships I have been on. Friendly, helpful, funny, talkative and well staffed so you didn't have to hunt someone down to get help.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
I wasn't a fan of this ship, after being on some newer ships it is a bit of a let down. NCL prob should upgrade to a new ship for this cruise. The ship was very clean and well-maintained just older in design and amenities.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
for an inside cabin I was very impressed with the amount of storage we had, and that we had soap and shampoo in the shower. I though I would feel cramped given this is the 1st inner cabin I have ever been in, but surprise that not at all. The bed was very comfortable to sleep in, and really on this trip we did not spend much time in the room since we never had a full day at sea.
Ship tip
Keep in mind the age of the ship, and the guest are older and more low key.
I loved Waikiki we stayed there prior to the cruise, Pearl Harbor was very powerful, and we did the Tolley tours which was really worth the money we got to see so much.
Not as impressed as I thought I would be, we did go to the beach but the water was pretty rough making it hard to snorkel and it was expensive going by taxi off the ship nothing was close to the port.
Kauai was my favorite island out of the all. The luau show is worth it, the food wasn't that great but the show was amazing! Must go see Waimea Canyon State Park, it was the highlight of the Island.
