Review summary

A planned trip should not required 4 flights to get to Honolulu. That made the start of the trip very challenging and exhausting. No one from the travel agent nor Norwegian would do anything to rectify the flights other than continue tell us that it was in their rights to be able to schedule this way. Very disappointing. Will not cruise again.

Where were you flying from?

Your origin location is unavailable but that seems like a lot of transfers! I've been to HNL 3 times and usually flew direct (ATL and EWR). Once I transferred thru PHX, but there were connections available thru LAX and SEA. The dates and times may have hemmed you in, but if you were flexible there should have been better options. I usually arrived days before the cruise and left days after. HNL is a very busy airport on a remote island. 😳 I'd say better luck/plan next time, but looks like that won't happen.

The cruise allows you to catch up on your sleep and jet lag as you travel. You only unpack once on board and do not have to deal with more airport hassles each day between islands. We find cheapest fares to and from Hawaii frequently have the most stops. Love this cruise.

$500 for round trip to Hawaii. You get what you pay for. That being said, you get the flight itinerary 30 days before you sail. That’s when you try to make changes, the key to a successful cruise is planning ahead and understanding what you’re actually getting. Don’t assume.

I understand how a bad start (the flights) can put a damper on your trip. But as others have said, that’s not the cruise experience. Maybe try something closer to home in the future and book your own transportation to the port of embarkation. Appreciate your feedback.

Sounds like you didn’t check your flight schedule before flying or you could have changed the flights. I agree with JT - the flights getting to Hawaii have nothing to do with the cruise. Normally the six hour time change in Hawaii is enough to make you tired and add jet lag to the mix and it’s exhausting. Would highly recommend going a few days early to adjust to the time change and then you would enjoy the cruise.

What do you the flights have to do with the cruise being terrible? If you booked your own flights, didn’t you know how many flights there were? If you didn’t book your own flights, you now know you never let the Cruise Line book your flights or they will put you on the cheapest (aka worst) flights with multiple connections, long layovers, overnight flights, etc.
