Review summary

Kauai: we took a helicopter flight around the island. Fantastic! Hilo: rented a Jeep, put the top down and drove through Volcano National park. Kona: Sea Kayaks! Maui: Anniversary! 1st day: Rented Harleys for the day, sightseeing. 2nd day: Whale watching and more sightseeing. Honolulu: Pearl Harbor.

If you book shore excursions with the cruise line, the boat will not leave without you. If you book excursions yourself, if you’re late, you may be looking for transportation to the next port. We booked our own and had no problems. Buy the drink package!

So, we rented a car after we disembarked. There were lots of people, but not overly crowded. The lines went pretty fast. My wife seems to think we had an appointment. I don’t remember. We went through the museum, went to the memorial, we also went to the submarine museum and they had some kind of show going on with food vendors and displays. We even had time to go over to Waikiki beach and swim for a while, before heading to the airport.

Was there a lot of people at the Pearl Harbor museum? Did it take long to get in? We want to see it and we are thinking about coming a few day early. If you went the morning you got off the ship before your flight home what did you do with your luggage?
