Review summary

We won this trip from our gym and it was a dream come true. Kauai was our favorite island. Mauna Kai, whale watching in Kona, and the road to Hana were our favorite excursions. This is a great way to experience Hawaii for the first time.

Embarkation

The embarkation experience was seamless and entertainment was so fun. They had hula dancers that performed and also showed us how to make our own headbands for the ladies.

The buffet was just average. Not bad. Not great. The main dining halls were nice, not spectacular. The specialty dining was fabulous. LaCucina May have been our favorite followed by Cagney’s.

Onboard Activities

There was so much to do, something for everyone. We loved the lei making class.

Poolside band was lots of fun and we enjoyed the dancers as well.

Service and Staff

From our favorite bartender to the spa staff and room attendant, we were so pleased with the service. There were really only two people on the entire ship that didn’t go out of their way to welcome us or make us feel like superstars - one staff member at the excursions desk and sadly the Cruise Director. She was wonderful with sooo many other guests, but did not go out of her way to reach out to us whenever we were around. That said, she has a very hard job. Connecting with every single guest is impossible.

It was small, but that’s what you get for this room type. The obstructed view was nothing to worry about. You’re in between two life boats and the view is great.
