We were first timers to the Islands. Highly recommend for newbies like us...now we know where to return and what to do. Wish we had 2 full days in Kauai! Ports were in convenient locations except for Maui: wish it was closer to adorable Lahaina.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We arrived at 2:45 pm and experienced no line.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Loved Cagneys and Jeffersonβs Bistro!!Buffet breakfast and lunches were fine. Skyline and Liberty dining rooms were fine: noticed the American servers not well trained on: few refilled water glasses, few asked for additional wine/cocktails , and many cleared entree plates before all guests were finished (pet peeve of mine!)
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Fitness center clean and updated. Such a shame smoking deck is right over the Adult Pool located in the back of the ship...smoke and ash blew on us, so we relocated to Main Pool.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Magician and music performers very good.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Melvin took care of us on Deck 8. Very personable and did a great job. We left some items in a drawer after disembarking. Very disappointing he did not turn them in to Lost & Found. American wait staff in specialty restaurants was amazing: other dining rooms personnel seemed to lack finesse.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
We love smaller ships! Layout great aside from Adult pool adjacent to smoking deck. Common areas clean with appealing decor. Teak railings on balconies needed oiling and varnishing.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Quiet location. Cabin typical of ship this age. Couch upholstery could use a cleaning. Drawers need To be aligned.View below was of lifeboats: would request Deck 9.
Stayed on Waikiki Beach: attend Pearl Harbor Memorial. So glad we came in a day early. Did Outrigger Canoeing excursion through NCL: not my cup of tea, but my husband enjoyed it. Did. Old Lahaina Luau: excellent! Also horseback ride at Mendes Ranch, which was spectacular.
Went to Kona Brewery, and then shopped for souvenirs: great strip of stores in Kona. Spent afternoon at the beach adjacent to port: you can rent umbrellas and 2 chairs for $29.
