Food and Dining

FOOD WAS VERY GOOD BUT SERVICE WAS APPALLING. The Italian waitress was not friendly. When I asked her questions she seamed as if I was annoying to her. We waited about 20 minutes before we ordered. The Liberty was a huge disappointment. My daughter was there with her children and the desert cam and it was a little wrong, my daughter told the server it was OK not to worry. The head waitress was very ugly she started telling the other waitress what had happened and reprimanded the server after she had apologized. My daughter could not believe what she saw, very sad for her server. Our family of 7 went there on Thanksgiving our waiter was Steven. There was very few guest there but it took him over and hour and half to serve us. That is not the worse part, everyone's appetizer came but mine. I Kept waiting on the server or Steven to come back to let him know I did not receive mine. When he came to pick up our dishes I told him I did not receive my soup, He in a loud voice said "You did not order soup!" How shocking is that! I wanted to tell him that was not the correct response, but I didn't our family just cracked jokes about the Seinfeld (TV show) about the soup episode to keep things light. He did bring it but without the relish but I did finally get it. The food was delicious . Our reservation was at 8 and desert did not arrive till after 9:30. By this time my granddaughter had fallen asleep on the table. Steven just grumbled at any comment made from our family. The East meets West was fabulous so was Moderinos

Lai making classes we excellent.

Entertainment

I would have liked to have seen more shows but the only reservations we could get were at 8pm and the wait staff was slow so I couldn't attend. The two shows I saw were delightful and entertaining. We felt our Free Style had been taken away on this cruise because we had to make reservations to eat every evening.

Service and Staff

Patricia our butler was excellent. Thomas was a delight Service in Cagney's for breakfast was wonderful! so was East Meets West. the rest of the time it was tolerable, definitely not pleasant..

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Our cabin steward was not that good, he did not take our used glasses, sometimes he would just put a cover over the, and dishes were not removed. We did have towels. I am wondering what happened to room stewards and other staff not having that wonderful "Good Morning Sharon" attitude?

Cabin / Stateroom

The sofa beds were extremely hard. I suppose I was disappointed because I had stayed in the Haven on the Breakaway and it was luxurious and spacious. our toilets stopped working several times but were fixed quickly.

Ship tip

be aware that the fun and friendliness is not on this ship.

The standard contract is for five months then five week vacation. NCL gives worker paid round trip to home anywhere in world. Other destinations worker pays. Many US workers get homesick and walk off without notice leaving ship shorthanded. Happens a lot around Holiday Season. Foreign workers like room, board and pay and stick around. Worker training is very regulated like military. Some cannot handle it unfortunately. We have always had good service on NCL and staff who like the passengers and what they do.

Correct. When have a problem we always let the Hotel Director, Dustin, know. It seems that as an American cruise ship, a number of the citizens do not know how to provide proper service even after continual training. As with any customer service business, we compliment and extra compensate the good and inform on the bad.

You do realize that NCL doesn't see this?
