Review summary

Again, great itinerary but poor cruise experience. Norwegian needs to get a more updated, modern ship and find a way to hire happier crew overall. If this were my first cruise experience, it may have been my last!

The food was average at best, the buffets were like herding cattle and the specialty dining restaurants were loud. The service was also average at best

The pool was crowded and some of the activities were a little on the cheesy side. The gym was nice.

The service overall was average at best. It was clear the morale of the staff was poor. Apparently at one of the ports we were in, the captain fired 32 people...you could tell. We never even knew our room stewards name.

Ship Quality

Very old ship that was obviously redone in an attempt to salvage it. Norwegian has no competition for Hawaiian Island cruises, at least in the summer...you can tell. I have been on 6 cruises in my life and this was definitely the worst. This ship also rocked more than any other cruise I can remember

Be ready for a great Itinerary but a below average cruise experience. If you're going for the cruise experience (on board activities, great service and great food), DONT DO IT!!!

We were on the Pride of America cruising around the Hawaiian Islands several years ago. Not one of our better cruises ð¢. Food was only OK, not great, no working bathroom in our stateroom for over 3 & 1/2 days, indifferent/ overworked staff. I was hoping it had improved by now. One thing that surprised me was we were never offered any fresh fruit for our entire time except for very sour I ripe green apples, no fresh oranges, pineapple, nothing.

I hated the POA! Yes, the ship is old. That's no big deal, but the food was terrible and most of the crew looked like they hated their jobs.

We did a b2b cruise on the POA in 2014, and had a good cruise experience... although we had seen similar posts back then. It is on our future to do list again.

We are going on POA in January and i have heard some bad reviews also. They have said its possibly due to the crew being mostly American it made a difference. We shall see, just not happy we couldnt get UBP during cruise!
