Review summary

Some of the cruise directors staff was amazing with the activities and shows they provided. The wait staff wanted nothing to do with you unless you were buying alcohol. An area of the ship smelt of urine and feces constantly. Would tell everyone not to travel Norwegian. Bought my tickets on cheap cruises thought it included everything but was charged 80.00 per person for additional gratuity on board the ship $14.95 per person per day. 1 star because they would not let me leave it blank.

All cruises charge gratuity. Look at documents. Love this cruise on only USA liner in world with 80 percent American crew. Good food and great scenery. Lots of activities on board or in port.

Every cruise line charges gratuities. The only way you won't have to pay them is if you Get in on a promo which include prepaid gratuities.

Unless you're an experienced cruiser, I strongly urge that you book through a travel agent. There's no charge to you. I have taken nearly 60 cruises and still use a ta. Booking a cruise is not like booking air fare. It's a very personal experience, and one size definitely does not fit all. A good ta can explain the tipping policy, the port cancellation policy, the drink package policy and so many more things that are unique to cruising. You invest way too much money to leave things to chance. For the most part, the online booking sites are only interested in getting your money.
