Review summary

I was very disappointed with many things on this cruise, first time I had to pay for Lobster and steak! Prices for shore excursions were very high. Couldn't get into a port that had to be tendered and no compensation for that. Food in the dinning rooms were short on meat and long on pasta or rice. Bartenders didn't know how to mix drinks.

Cabin was too small, when bed was made up as a King you had to duck to get around the folded up bunk beds. There was no seating space we had to sit but on the bed.

Ship tip

Had to tender there and couldn't because of rough seas. No compensation for not being able to tender in. Other cruise lines gave compensation of you couldn't make a port.

Sorry about the missed port, but that is part of cruising.

‚

We've never been on NCL. Been through Hawaii three times on HAL and Princess though. Also been there so many times by air over the years I've lost count.‚ One time‚ we missed the tender port in Kauai due winds. Another time on HAL, due a pod problem getting there we had to cancel a couple of ports.‚ In our‚ years of cruising we have missed many ports due weather, normally the line attempts to‚ add an alternative‚ port to make up for the missed one. But not always. Other than reimbursement for missed shore excursions I don't recall ever being compensated for missing a port.

I'm more interested in your comment that HAL is charging for steak and lobster at dinner now. I'm assuming you are talking about the MDR experience and not specialties. Man, the nickel and dime game continues to get worse.‚ Hope Princess doesn't start that. ‚ ‚ ‚ ‚

It is always disappointing to miss a port of call.

" Couldn't get into a port that had to be tendered and no compensation for that.". I'm SURE you at least had the port fees & taxes for that proposed port reimbursed, check your final folio! With "7+" cruises, I would think that by now you would know the cruise line, ANY cruise line for that matter is not obligated to give you anything for a necessary skipped port.
