Review summary

The State of Hawaii is beautiful, but the cruise was marginal. Guests were prohibited from bringing water onboard, yet no water was accessible from the staterooms. This caused guests to go hunting for potable water at every turn- often carting small cups of water from the buffets at all hours in order to have a bedside drink. In addition, there was a terrible odor throughout the Champagne Lounge- it smelled of raw sewage. Finally, the lack of evening activities onboard the ship made for a boring trip and very early nights. I would not recommend this cruise to anyone.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
Activities seemed to be scheduled during the day when most guests were off the ship. Evenings were quite boring.

The shows were terrible and amateur.

Ship Quality

Loved the décor, but the smells were terrible... In addition to the odor in the Champagne Lounge, the toilet odor in the cabins was sickening.

Ship tip

There is no adults-only area, so if you are looking for peace and quiet, avoid this cruise. Also, pay the $10 to be able to text through the app. Relying on notes and telephones was aggravating. Buying one account for each cabin is sufficient.

My husband and I always take our own cups so we can fill them why on the ship. We also fill them with ice because we have been on excursions that offer water but with warm weather like the Caribbean it gets hot fast. I recommend anyone cruising to carry your own insulated cup or Walter bottle.

Plenty on offer re entertainment in the evening. The whole water ban is silly but is great for the local Hobos who collect the mountains of water bottle plastic at each port. It is a real waste and bad for the environment! However great opportunity for Poa to price gouge for their own bottled water (plus tax and gratuity and....$$$$)

We used the glasses in the staterooms at the sink, both for filling up our refillable water bottles for going off the ship and getting a drink.

Was there the option to buy bottled water on the ship?

You can drink any of the water on a cruise ship, it's all filtered by reverse osmosis.
