Review summary
I didn't find much pride on the Pride of America, The ship although it looks nice, and the staterooms are nice and clean, the public restrooms were filthy and not maintained. Doors broken, locks broken, and it didn't get any better during the cruise. The bed had a mattress covered by 2 aged foam toppers, all lumpy and falling apart. The food was OK, but not great. The service in restaurants was very good. The entertainment was a little lacking in quantity, but the quality was very good. The Oh What a Night (Frankie Valli) show was really great and the other shows singers and dancers were also exceptional. There was a TV in the stateroom, but nowhere was there any information about what was on it. There were some movies in the indoor theater, but I was never able to find out what or when. The bartenders were not friendly at all and the drinks were the worst I have ever had. There was no hint of alcohol and they were poorly mixed. You would be OK with the wine or beer. They both provided a welcome relief of thirst. The food in the buffet was pretty good, but having no trays, it was difficult to balance food plates and drinks getting to your table. That caused many people to make multiple trips, adding to the congestion around the area. On other cruise lines the service people got your drinks. There were 2 full-service restaurants for dinners, + the buffet. The other 8 restaurants all had substantial cover charges.
Finally, if you are a non-smoker, I would never pay for a balcony, as it is unusable due to smokers. Everytime I opened the door the room flooded with smoke. It actually wasn't much better in the hallway, as people were smoking there and crew did nothing about it. Norwegian could solve the balcony smoke problem by having smokers on starbord side and non-smokers on the port side. Or smokers toward stern so the smoke blows back away from non-smokers.

Don't pay for a balcony if you are non-smoker. You won't be able to use it.
