Great way to get a taste of the Hawaiian Islands

Sail Date: October 05, 2013

Reviewed: 3 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Inside

This is a great ship to sail around the Islands! The ship crew and executive staff are very accomodating and friendly. We had an inside stateroom that was very comfortable, especially the bed for a good nights sleep. The food in the main dinng rooms could use some more variety, especially dinner. The buffets for morning breakfasts were very diverse with many choices. Drinks were reasonable and if you wanted a little stronger, you were accomodated. The itenerary was good, with plenty of time to see the main attractions each island had to offer. Shuttles were available to take you into town, tour, or a rental car; free of charge. If you have never been to Hawaii before, and you want to see a bit of each island, this is the cruise to take. Hopefully there won't be another government shutdown, as this disappointed some cruisers if they wanted to see things like Pearl Harbor, and any of the state parks.

Ship Quality
Looked brand new and well kept.
Food and Dining
Dinner could use some more variety.
Cabin / Stateroom
The bed was especially comfortable.
Service and Staff
Very accommodating and friendly.
Entertainment
Late night at the Piano Bar was fun as well as Karaoke nights.
Children's Programs No comment (no kids)
Onboard Activities
Wasn't on board a lot to take advantage of these
Destinations and Excursions
Best way to get a "taste" of Hawaii.
Honolulu, Oahu
You may want to consider arriving a day or two early to really appreciate Honolulu.
Kahului, Maui
Do the road to Hana if you have the time.
Hilo, Hawaii
A bit wet, Volcano's Park was closed
Kailua-Kona, Hawaii
Beautiful weather, great flea market for great deals
Nawiliwili, Kauai
Rent a car if you like to explore on your own.

Tip

If you like good late night entertainment, then hit the Piano Bar and listen to some great music with dancing. Also, I think they have one of the best bartenders there.
