Review summary
It has been several years since we cruised with NCL. They are now owned by a conglomerate from the Orient or somewhere similar. The ship is beautiful and very modern. The ports were great, except for Hilo. Wouldn't want to go back there. The food was good but not as great as it used to be. The entertainment was bad. Gone are the days of Las Vegas style shows! The staff were mostly Americans. They just didn't seem to be very well trained or maybe, not as good a work ethic as other nationalities. NCL now has mandatory tipping at a rate they set. If you want to adjust the amount, it is difficult to do so. When you are evaluating cruises, be sure to add $12 per day, per person for tipping to your cruise costs! Security is a big hassle while traveling these days. I'm not conviced it is warranted. Overall, it was a very good cruise.Ship experiences
