Pride of America

7 Night Hawaii (Honolulu Roundtrip)

Sail date: February 14, 2009

Ship: Pride of America

Cabin type: Suite

Traveled as: Family (young children)

Review summary

This was our 4th cruise, 1st on NCL. The ship was very easy to get around. Very basic, not too lavish. Had a family suite with a super large deck which was wonderful. Didn't realize that paying over $7000 didn't get you anything extra for a suite. Not even a fruit basket! Only advantange of the family suite was embarkation and the room space. Ship rolled and rocked way too much.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
I would never recommend the buffet. Food was always cold and not enough seating.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
Too many comedy shows. Nothing like a "Vegas" or "New York" quality.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
My daughter lived in the play area (10 - 12 year old). She loved the staff and the activities.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
I never really saw anybody go above and beyond with the exception of one room steward. He wasn't even our steward but helped us when our daughter was sick.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Many public areas were no clean. Standing water in the pool area. Slipped several times and staff didn't seem to care too much. Handrails were sticky, carpet needed cleaning.

Cabin / Stateroom

1 out of 5
Great room but housekeeping never replenished anything except towls and tp. Had to put dirty glasses in hallway so they could be picked up. Never replaced any used glasses or coffee.
