Not so great

Sail Date: October 14, 2006

Reviewed: 10 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

Captain ran over two buoys! Prop got messed up. Did not visit two of the ports and one was shortened. Staff was friendly but poorly trained. Rooms were filthy at checkin. Sheets were changed once. Food was poor except in specialty restaurants. This ship and crew are poor in comparison to Carribbean cruises. NCL staff was hard to deal with when we wanted compensation for the poor cruise. Our second NCL cruise and our last. Hawaii is beautiful but visit in a way that does NOT include NCL or Pride of America

Pros: beautiful ship

Cons: poorly trained staff, pretty dirty

Food and Dining
Poor food in the main restaurants but great in the specialty ones that you pay additional for.
Cabin / Stateroom
Very large but we had a handicapped room. Found hair, razor and dirt when checked in.
Service and Staff
Friendly, willing but poorly trained. Very rarely went above and beyond. More the opposite
Entertainment
Shows and entertainment clearly below our standards as we have sailed nearly 20 times. Activities director was a step above the rest of the ship.
Ship Quality
Rooms filthy. Ship dusty and not as well kept as other ships
Kailua-Kona, Hawaii
Been there before. Very interesting. Had an earthquake when we were supposed to visit and captain screwed up the screw
Don't Miss: Never got there
Nawiliwili, Kauai
Prettiest of the islands
Don't Miss: Got to see the Grand canyon of the Pacific
Kahului, Maui
Nice island but get far, far away from the ship. Rent a car, do your homework and drive far into the island
Don't Miss: Interesting small towns
