Review summary

This was our first cruise and we were unsure of what to expect. The ship is beautiful, but we had some trouble with our stateroom. I wish that we would have felt more comfortable communicating our concerns about our stateroom with the staff. Overall our experience was wonderful and we had a great time.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The restaurants were great, the food was plentiful and outstanding. The waiters didn't care if you ordered more than one starter or salad or main dish or dessert. You could eat whatever you wanted, whenever you wanted.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The ventriloquist and the juggler were wonderful! I would have enjoyed the singing group if there were more familiar tunes.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff were willing to go the extra mile. One night at dinner the soda was flat and our waiter's assistant went to the restaurant on another level to get better soft drinks. The waiters were also helpful with suggestions of places and things to do while in port.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
A great and spacious ship. The public areas were clean and sparkling. We had a great time exploring the ship and finding all the amenities.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
We had some problems with our stateroom--shower didn't drain and had to be cleaned out; the clothesline in the shower didn't work--so it was hard to dry our beach things; the shower curtain was moldy; and we rarely received washcloths.

Ports of call

Nawiliwili, Kauai

5 out of 5
We loved the lighthouse and bird sanctuary. The road can get crowded later in the day. ATV rides provide an opportunity to view beautiful scenery and have a lot of fun.
Don't Miss: Dining at Dukes on Kauai--the view is terrific, the food great, especially the Hula pie.

Hilo, Hawaii

5 out of 5
Don't miss the volcano national park. Take the road out to the lava flow and walk across the old lava to the shore/cliff. The view is gorgeous and worth the walk.

Kahului, Maui

5 out of 5
The road to Hana is beautiful, but takes an entire day to complete. Lahaina is all shopping.

Kailua-Kona, Hawaii

5 out of 5
Great snorkeling.

Pros: The freestyle dining made it easy to eat according to our schedule. We could choose when and where to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner. There were plenty of shipboard activities. We enjoyed basketball, table tennis and shuffle board. The evening entertainment was outstanding.

Cons: We could never get a reservation to the speciality restaurants. We purchased the soft drink cards and then it seemed impossible to get soda.
