Review summary

Being a first time cruiser, it was awesome. Really clean and luxurious. Felt comfortable and relaxed everywhere on the ship.

Ports of call

Nawiliwili, Kauai

Waimea Canyon is great and good opportunity to see south side of island. Waste of time is the Fern Grotto, used to be nice I guess from description, but hurricane a few years back left it pretty unspectacular and you would be better served spending those precious hours doing something else, even if its just going to the beach. Don't purchase the tours through the ship, way overpriced. Other companies offer the same tours for at least half the price. Check out their brochures before boarding the ship. Don't get fooled by the "we'll leave you if something happens on those other tours". Roberts Hawaii offers a guarantee and Polynesian Adventure Tours is partly owned by NCL, so they will not leave you. We used Polynesian Adventure Tours, they were the cheapest, used the same buses, took the same routes as the NCL tours, and were very informative.
Don't Miss: Scenery and be outside the boat when going by the Napali Coast.

Tons to do here so use time wisely. Sunrise at Haleakala is cool. Biking down is cool but takes away a few hours from other things. Snorkeling at Molikini and Turtle Town was awesome! Swim with thousands of fish, huge turtles and manta rays in super clear deep blue water. You can see clearly down for at least 150 feet. Road to Hana is great if you have time, this is a full day outing. Lots of great stops along the way, but make sure you make it to the Oheo Gulch (seven sacred ponds) and swim and jump from cliffs. Shaved Ice from truck at Waianapanapa State Park are great and so is the park itself. A must stop on the way to Hana.
Don't Miss: Snorkeling Molikini and Turtle town

Kailua-Kona, Hawaii

Really enjoyed beaches were you could see turtles everywhere. Bus tour was very informative and gives you a chance to see much of the island in the short time you have there.
Don't Miss: Turtles

Hilo, Hawaii

Great feeling in Hilo. If you want to see flowing lava, go from here, the helicopter or plane is much cheaper than from Kona. Mauna Loa crater is cool.
Don't Miss: Go see lava if possible.
