We had heard of Free Style Cruising but did not realize that it meant "You're on your own and we will not help you, respond to your requests, answer your questions or make you feel welcome". The ports were lovely, the boat was nice, although not a very easy floor plan to figure out. This was my 3rd cruise and I will never go on Norwegian again. The staff all thought they were on vacation as well and did not care to serve any of the guests. The cruise offered very little information on what times the restaurants were open and three different times we were unable to find any food available to eat because the times had been listed incorrectly. However, a person could always PAY for food...not quite like my past cruises for sure.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The food tasted fine, the service was wretched. Everyone seemed to be on their "first day at work" on the ship and it left us all wondering if there was a hidden camera for a practical joke. The lemonade was delicious, however, they ran out of lemonade for the week on the very first night before even leaving the port.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
The entertainment was fine, although not much information was offered about the entertainers. There were few activities to be had as they apparently thought every person on the ship would depart each morning at 8 a.m. at the ports and not return until night.
Service and Staff
1 out of 5
Only one person went above and beyond. One afternoon I went to get ketchup for my hotdog from the food area and the person working there said I would have to do without as it wasn't his job to find ketchup for lunch.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
It was clean enough, big enough and the decor was fine - it was just poorly layed out. A person would have to walk through one show to get to the other show area, therefore interupting events going on.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
Although, quite small, the stateroom was fine. If you do go on this cruise ship just know that room 4008 is apparently directly above where they open the ship for the cruisers to come and go - it's NOISY!!!!
