Review summary

Very nice and well-kept ship. The open seating had it's pros and cons. The pros are that you basically can get dinner from 5:30 to 9:00 every day. The food was good but got a little repetitious after a few days at sea. At times it was difficult to find a seat to eat. It seemed that once excursions started seating became more available. Breakfast always had a nice variety of foods and fresh fruits. Overall, you aren't quite 'pampered' as much as on other cruise ships but we didn't really go to do ship activities, we went for the Hawaiian excurions and sites on the islands so we felt it was well worth it.

Ship experiences

Entertainment

We did not do a whole lot on the ship...too tired after a day of excursions but the activities we attended on the ship were good.

Service and Staff

Any problems or concerns were addressed and everyone treated us in a friendly manner. Excursions were well organized.

We chose not to dine in the sit down restaurants but people we talked to that did said the service was good and also the food was good.

Ports of call

Kahului, Maui

The hike to waterfalls was great! We hiked through rain forests to four different waterfalls and got to swim in each. Two of the falls had 30 foot cliff jumping which was really fun and two falls had rope swings. This was something I'll never forget. We also went to see the play 'Ulalena' that evening. It was OK, told a nice story but got a little repetitious and wasn't one of our favorite activities.
Don't Miss: Definitely the waterfall hiking excursion

Kailua-Kona, Hawaii

We rented a car a visited one coffee plantation (among probably 50 in the area) It was very informative. We went into town and shopped at the international market, then went to a beautiful beach north of the airport. Kona was alright but only average.

Nawiliwili, Kauai

We did the kayak tour, hiked through a rain forest and visited a waterfall. We totally enjoyed it and the guides were great.

Hilo, Hawaii

The volcano national park tour was the best. The guides knew just about everything and did a great job explaining. Rainbow falls was a little disappointing and the botanical gardens were OK if you like plants.
Don't Miss: Definitely the volcano tour.

Pros: Room and board at every island stop

Cons: Mattresses on beds were very uncomfortable
