Review summary

A much smaller ship than most are accustomed to. Not a great ship for families with younger children as there are limited entertainment for the younger crowd. We found it very relaxing without the crush of 3000+ passengers you get on most ships, yet still with plenty to do and entertainers comparable to those on larger ships. The food was quite good. Being a smaller ship, we got to know the staff and most of them called us by name. It was truly a "boutique" experience.

Our cruise was a Panama canal transit. Larger ships may now be able to go through the canal, but the newer locks are somewhat boring compared to the old, narrow locks with their locomotive "mules".

Bottom line, if you need 24/7 entertainment, choose a larger ship. If you like a more relaxed atmosphere, choose the Pacific Princess.
