A very worthwhile cruise

Sail Date: May 17, 2006

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

The Pacific Princess is a relatively small ship by today's standards, about 34,000 tons; which had both advantages and disadvantages. The advantages included no crowds, no lines, and no waiting for most ship's services (except the laundromat); the disadvantages included not as many services as today's cruisers are becoming accustomed to.

Pros: The food in the restaurant and the Ports of Call

Cons: The length of the cruise was a little long for my taste

Shanghai, China
A very busy, lively port. Not as civil as Japanese ports, but very bustling.
Don't Miss: Suzhou.
Vladivostok, Russian Federation
Very educational, but the people here just don't seem very happy. Very attractive, very active, just not happy overall.
Don't Miss: The trans-siberian railroad and the people watching from the shore.
Dalian, China
A delightful port and very friendly city by Chinese standards. The people seemed happy to see you and appreciative of your being there.
Don't Miss: The port itself, the beaches, and parks.

Hiroshima, Japan
Very interesting and moving. Enjoyed being with the Japanese...such a delightful people to associate with!
Don't Miss: Atomic Dome and Peace Park.

Don't Miss: Suzhou.
Busan (Pusan), South Korea
Interesting contrast with Japan, Russia and China
Don't Miss: The park with the tower, I think it is Yongsan or something like that.
