Review summary

Many bumps but still an overall fantastic experience.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Pretty packed. Long lines and a bit confusing.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
MDR was disappointing. Slower service than previous voyages. Many dishes not served at proper temperatures.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Lots of repetition.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Some shows were really great. Others not so much. Live music was generally way better than average.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Room steward was great but a bit overtaxed since they now do more rooms only once a day. Had to leave notes rather than talk. But good otherwise. MDR service was far at best. Several stand-out servers elsewhere.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship is Starting to show its age. Super clean but not as slick as Ovation was 2 mos ago.

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
Room itself was fine but the balcony had a huge overhang that obstructed the view of the sky. It was Also lighted so a bit annoying.

Ship tip

Super friendly Australian people. Talk to them!

Ports of call

Sydney, Australia

5 out of 5
Great people. Lots to do.

Bay Of Islands, New Zealand Did not visit port

Canceled due to rough seas

Auckland, New Zealand

Cross International Dateline

4 out of 5
No event. Weird repeating the day. Seemed like Royal should have counted it as an extra day.

Papeete, Tahiti

3 out of 5
Port itself was seedy. Snorkel excursion ok. Saw dolphins.

Moorea, French Polynesia

5 out of 5
Beautiful place. I’d go back in a heartbeat.

Honolulu, Oahu

5 out of 5
Busy but beautiful

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Royal cut the cruise a day short to make disembarkation easier, which it was. Not sure if it was worth losing a day on Moorea.
