Review summary

The ship was nice, the staff was great, but the food was terrible. Some stuff was good, but not enough for me to write home about. Also, one good thing is jeans are allowed in dining room and jacket and tie are not required. Smaller portions were great (less to throw away). Everyday seemed like the same food and not very tasty. If you lower your expectations, you won't be so disappointed.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Main dining room food wasn't real tasty, the specialty restaurants were better in the past. Jamie Olivers Italian was good, Wonderland was a unique experience, and Chops Grill was a bit disappointing from our previous experiences. We stuck with wine, because the drinks seem to be watered down. Buffet was crazy with so many places to scoop up your tasteless food, hard to find a spot to sit down during peak hours. Nothing exciting, even if it did look fresh. Fish and Ship was the best place for our quick bites, in between meals.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
It seemed there were many things to do, but our weather wasn't sunny to be out and about. We did do the bumper cars, which was OK

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The two comedians were good, but RC wonderful entertainment has gone downhill. We have sailed with RC over 20 times ,(Diamond Plus) and we use to have broadway shows and really awesome talent. NOT THIS TIME!! very disappointed

Children's Programs

no kids along

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Our main dining room servers were excellent. Our room steward barely replaced anything, and we either had to ask, or swipe from cart. Kleenex, TP, soap. I guess you only get the daily itinerary paper if you ask. Which we found out 5 days in to our cruise

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
to the most part, clean and nice, but some of the public bathrooms needed attention

Cabin / Stateroom

my only complaint would be...they should install hooks on the walls for our beach bags, swimsuits, hats, lanyards etc. There is plenty of wall space for this to happen. More hanger would be nice, but we just asked and our room steward accommodated.

Ship tip

ALWAY CARRY OFF YOUR LUGGAGE. THE LATER AIRLINE DEPARTURE IS GOOD. Our Sydney port was a SxxT show . Always fly in the day before sailing, no matter what port. We found out that the excursion brochures are VERY misleading. They make it all sound better than it really is and was a complete waste of time and money. When we wanted to do things on our own, non of the excursions existed on the days the cruise ship was in port. (how convenient). They overcharge and don't deliver.

Disembarkation

We were 3 hours delayed due to winds and weather (missing our flight). We waited on ship thinking the lines would be less. However, they only had one exit (gangway) and three lines merging in together. So much confusion by the OLD people and very misdirected by the "help". Customs took way too long too. Overall bad taste left us. RC was a real disappointment. So much for being loyal
