I would not sail on Ovation of the Sea again because the quality of food is bad, too many sea days and the ports are mostly boring, undeveloped and uninteresting cities. Worse of all the local excursions companies did not have much interesting places to take us but sent us to spend a lot of time at low end street vendors to shop. Those are not even place to shop. What a waste of time and money!
Embarkation

It was over crowded and very unorganized at Singapore port. There was no expedited line for long term customers like other cruise lines. Every customer had to follow the same crowd. There emwasn't enough agent to guide the traffic.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Main dining foid was horrible, totally tasteless. My husband order the whole lobster with up charge but it was mushy and stale! We never taste a lobster so bad. We also ate at chef table. It was another disappointment, the food was ordinary. We did chef table at Anthem of the Sea, it was so unique and tasty. The food at this chef lacked taste and presentation. The only better Chop Grille and Italian are alright but limited choices. The worse of all is the Japanese Isumi restaurant. The chef didn't even know how dmto do japanese rolls.we complained and was told the chef went on vacation. Then why operate the restaurant if the chef is missing. Instead they have a Phillipino did the rolls. I think the super market in US makes better Japanese rolls but we had to pay extra to eat at this restaurant!

Service and Staff
4 out of 5
The room steward worked hard but there were lacked if amenities in the room unless i asked for them. Why are there no face tissues and hand lotions in the room?

As expected although balcony was too small.
Ship tip
Not worth the money. Don't use free restaurants, only book all specialty restaurant. Stay away from Isumi restaurant. Instead of this big ship, try Anthem of the Sea
Vietnam is too undeveloped. The cities had nothing to see, old, dilapidated and boring. It was a waste of money, the tour took us to cheap, street vendors types of stores that sell low quality products instead of normal to high quality stores. The only good excursion is the Korea full day excursion that included a buffet lunch that was excellent.
Poor poor city, boring place. Again took us waste time at the street vendors that sell low quality products! We ended up sitting at a Starbuck drinking coffee and wait for the time to board the bus! Don't waste money on this excursion.
The best of this trip except it only stayed for 12 hours from 9 am to 9 pm. It is better the ship stay here for 2 days. There are a lot to see and shops sell good quality products. A very modern city but also include interesting history abd customs. I rated 4 star because there is not enough time to spend in this city!
A bad disembarkment process. Because the ship provided so many people going to excursion in this city that it backed up the disembarkment. The problem was not due to the port, it was due to Royal Caribbean itself and its process of moving people to the excursion buses and the disembark process was chaotic. We found the port was very spacious, very efficient and the immigration process was fast. The Tianjin port had many agents and they moved people that had no visas to separate location and line so it would be more efficient. It was orderly inside the Tianjin port.
@jadegreeneyes were you agreeing with what I wrote or the person who made the review?
Me personally I loved cruising on Ovation, only had a couple of little niggles but it was an awesome ship
Your right , poor underdevolped countrys can be a shock to affluent cruisers. Maybe next time spend more time researching your ports and sea days before booking
