Review summary

I am not sure if I will use P&O again as the officers/ captain was economical with the truth. Different information was given to passengers, no announcements about the hot water system failing, dirty water in cabins and totally wrong information given about the reason for not going to Dublin. Told it was berthing issues as so many ships were in Port , yet on boat watch you could see there was one cruise ship and a couple of other small ships near by. Why not say we have engine trouble? The vibrating was so bad on coming into Southampton that plates fell off the table

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The staff were fantastic. They couldn’t help enough. The dining areas were clean and food excellent

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
Limited outdoor activities, on decks. Only two rowing machines in the gym. Pools were reasonable and very warm

Entertainment

1 out of 5
As the ship is due to be sold in two weeks , I felt P&O was not bothered about the entertainment. A group we picked up in Ireland was excellent but the rest was by far the worst I have experienced on any ship . The films were so violent passengers walked out or they were so old such as 1973 the sting. They did show one modern film Dumbo

Children's Programs

Adult only ship

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Waiters , stewards and cleaners were fantastic. I only experienced staff behind reception as the rest of the staff made themselves scarce due to the amount of problems encountered, such as cold water in the cabins, brown water which was sorted quickly, engine failure and missed ports!!!

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
The ship was looking tired but very clean

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
The cabin was clean and adequate but very stuffy due to the air conditioning not working properly

Ship tip

Think twice as passengers were not priority

Isafjordur, Iceland

4 out of 5
No we walked into the port and enjoyed it

Akureyri, Iceland

4 out of 5
Port great excursion diabolical. Bus broke down and the excursion cut short. It was not suitable for anyone with mobility issues although stated easy to medium. Sat on the coach for 40 minutes waiting for it to be fixed. It was stuffy and we still came back to the ship prior to the time stated missing half the itinerary. No refund given from P&O . Very quick to collect money but reluctant to refund it. Other trips were good which I heard about.

Klaksvik, Faroe Islands

5 out of 5
Fantastic trip and port

Dublin, Ireland Did not visit port

Missed this port due to engine trouble

Cobh (Cork), Ireland

5 out of 5
Port excellent but the excursion was spent driving on a motorway seeing nothing much. Time stopped by the abbey was only 5 mins, not long to walk round it. A totally waste of time and not worth doing

Disembarkation

Cases were everywhere taking about 40 minutes to find them. No help for my mother . Ie a wheelchair although assistance was requested.
