Review summary

We were going to Vancouver, BC for a eeek and saw the OOSTERDAM was picking up passangers in San Diego and stopping in Victoria and Vancouver. We have never cruised with Holland America before so this would be a good opportunity to try them out. It was a good choice. Met some wonderful people and was taken care of in excellent fashion by the crew of the OOSTERDAM.

Just below The BB KING Lounge and the base rhythm from above was disturbingly loud. We could handle the nights when it ended at midnight but they added a dj that went on after 1 a.m. so we were given a sleeping room for the remainder of the cruise. If that had not been available it would have been disastrous.

Ship tip

Book a dinner at the Penincal Grill. The service, food and ambiance was great.
